A Farscape Movie is Coming!

A decade ago, back before the name change when there were actually cool series on Sci-Fi Channel that had nothing to do with ghost hunting, Farscape was one of the coolest shows on the network. The series had some cool characters and was cancelled before many fans were ready for it to go.

If you were a fan of Farscape, word is that a movie is in the works. The tip that a film is in the works from writer Justin Monjo. He is writing the script and the film will reportedly be directed by Brian Henson, son of Jim Henson. It’s unclear if we are talking theatrical release or made-for-TV movie.

The movie will follow the son of John and Aeryn, D’Argo Sun Crichton. I don’t recall much about a child from the series but apparently the film’s plot has D’Argo hidden by his parents on Earth because he possesses some kind of superpowers they don’t want evil aliens to know about. The core of the film is said to pick up when D’Argo is 19 and he ends up joining his parents on their spaceship.

AT&T Memo Indicates Summer Launch for 3G iPhone

This article was written on May 07, 2008 by CyberNet.

Over the last several months, there has been a lot of buzz around the Internet regarding a 3G iPhone coming soon from Apple. We haven’t mentioned a thing about it yet because we weren’t quite convinced that it was actually going to be coming as early as some have predicted. Now we’re starting to feel a little more comfortable with the speculation, especially after seeing an internal email that was sent to all AT&T employees. Take a look (important parts are emphasized):

AT&T Mobility

Vacation Schedules

To: All Employees

Last year at this time we asked that all vacations be scheduled before June 15 or after July 15, to ensure adequate store staffing and to give everyone an equal opportunity to benefit from an exciting product launch. Thanks to your hard work, we experienced excellent sales during the mid-summer period. This year, the numbers you produced in 2007 will be hard to beat; but as a business, we must rise to the challenge, and make every effort to exceed last year’s sales results. Your management team is counting on you!

We’ll meet the challenge “head-on” by providing an exciting Summer Promotional Launch to enable your sales to soar. We again anticipate heavier than normal customer traffic in our stores, providing an excellent earning opportunity for every front line retail sales consultant (RSC) in company owned retail stores.

To ensure proper staffing during this period, Sales personnel planning to take approved time off are encouraged to schedule their vacations before June 15 or after July 12 to participate in the heavy selling period

Previously approved vacation will be allowed where voluntary rescheduling is not feasible

No additional vacation will be approved for 6/15 – 7/12

If customer traffic is manageable, there may be an opportunity to approve vacation toward the end of the period. Managers will communicate updates as they become available.

If the new 3G iPhone were to launch on June 15th, it would be two days after WWDC ended. The only problem with that date is that it happens to fall on a Sunday, and we don’t believe Apple would launch a new product on a weekend. The launch would likely come early the following week or maybe even later in the month like they did last year with the late June iPhone launch.

Now that we’ve finally mentioned the 3G iPhone for the first time, it might be worth mentioning some of the new features that it is rumored to have:

  • 3G (obviously)
  • Fully functional GPS
  • Instead of being metal, it will be a glossy black from top to bottom
  • Slightly thicker in size from current iPhone

There’s no word on what battery life would be like, but hopefully it would remain about the same as the current iPhone because that is definitely one of its best features.

Fancy an Authentic London Taxi Cab in your garage?

authentic-london-cabThe great city of London has been around for a few hundred years already, where it has played host to plenty of interesting events in the past. There are also plenty of iconic sights to check out, including the Tower Bridge, the Westminster Abbey as well as Buckingham Palace. Apart from that, there are those red double decker buses that ferry people around, in addition to a private and far more expensive option – the public taxi. If your private bank account is feeling a little heavy at the moment and your garage is rather empty, then the $40,000 Authentic London Taxi Cab would be the perfect addition to your home.

In fact, the Authentic London Taxi Cab is a real Hackney carriage which actually plied the streets of London for more than 25 years ago. If you were to drop by London today, it would remain an iconic fixture along the Strand, where the country’s first nation’s first taxi cab stand was established all the way back in 1636. This particular version happens to be a fully restored and overhauled Fairway that dates back from the 1980s. It was specially designed with a high degree of English sensibility, where you would end up with with plenty of room to carry out a decent business meeting right in the back of the ride. A 2.7-liter Nissan diesel engine is underneath the hood, where it is mated to a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes.
