It’s not too often these days that an iPhone still surprises you. We’ve more or less seen it all by now. Except, we haven’t. FireChat is a new app that takes advantage of a little-known iOS feature that makes it easy to set up and run a network even when there’s no cellular signal.
If you’ve scrolled through Tumblr lately and thought to yourself, “Hey, this could use some added security,” the blogging platform has your back. Today the outfit announced that it’s adding two-step authentication as a means of keeping your account…
This won’t be the first time that Redbox will offer video game rentals. The company has done this before, but if a recent report is correct, it may be the first time that Redbox offers titles from next generation gaming consoles. The rental company is expected to offer titles for Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One and the Nintendo Wii U over the next couple of weeks.

I’m trying to be a little more Earth-friendly. I reuse what I can, and cut down on my contribution to the landfills by not using disposable water bottles. I have a nice array of special glass and plastics that can be used over and over again. I know it’s not much, but at least I feel like I’m doing something. Of course what I don’t like, is cleaning the containers, a bottle brush never seems to do the job, and theres always some residue stuck in some rounded corner I can’t reach. Yuck!
Well, if you find it difficult to properly clean some of your narrow-necked vessels, like wine decanters, water bottles, vases or even baby bottles, then you should check out the Magnetic Spot Scrubber. This ingenious little gizmo can clean all those pesky hard to reach places that all the soaking, poking and swiping simply can’t reach. The Magnetic Spot Scrubber is comprised of a special magnetic silicone scrubber with a separate magnetic knob that work together to perform cleaning magic.
You just drop the little scrubber into your soap and water filled decanter or bottle, and then using the magnetized knob, you hook up to it from the outside, and get to scrub away to your hearts content. This little gadget is almost like having a tiny hand inside your normally inaccessible containers, getting them sparkly clean, with no contortions, or dishcloths wrapped around knives. (yes, I’ve done that)
The nubby silicone scrubbers is strong enough for a nice scrubbing, but soft enough that it will not scratch glass and, when finished the Magnetic Spot Scrubber easily rinses clean, just don’t put it in the dishwasher. Get one now at bedbathandbeyond.com for just under 12 bucks.

Wanna give your fish a good time and give them a break from their boring lives? Replace their ordinary tank with this Pac-Man maze tank. This aquarium will keep their minds occupied. It may even give them Pac-Man fever and drive them crazy.
This fish tank was built by Instructables member antoniraj. It was created with 5 mm sheets of glass for the outside and 2 mm sheets for the maze, then it was all sealed together with Araldite epoxy glue. Dots and power pellets are optional.
If you decide to build one, you’ll just need a yellow fish for Pac-Man and the appropriately colored fish-ghosts. Unfortunately, I’m not sure how long your fish will last in this tank, but it is a fun project.

This month, some residents of San Francisco might discover photographs of themselves engaging in rather embarrassing behavior. A website has been collecting photos of people texting while driving, and some of those photos have now found their way onto billboards throughout the region.
If you’re a big Google Now user, then there’s some good news for you. The company has just announced that Google Now cards will now be available on Chrome for Windows and Mac. Ever since its launch, Now has been a mobile-only feature. Its simple cards interface lets users keep up with a variety of things, such as sports scores, traffic, weather, appointments, reminders and more. All of this data will now be displayed in Chrome on desktops and laptops, provided that users are signed in with the same account that they’re using on iOS or Android for Google Now.

We have all wished for it at some point, that smartphones have the ability to automatically send notifications to our computers while we’re either too busy to too lazy to pick them up. There are a few apps out there that can make this happen, but Pushbullet takes it to a whole new level. Not only does it mirror notifications from an Android phone to the computer, as soon as they pop up on the smartphone, but it also lets users send files, links, lists, text and maps from the computer to the phone, this works the other way around as well.
