No New Unreal Tournament Game In The Works

No New Unreal Tournament Game In The WorksWe’re sure that when Epic Games took to the stage at GDC 2014 earlier yesterday, many expected them to perhaps announce a new game, like a new Unreal Tournament for example. If you have been playing FPS games long enough, Unreal Tournament was one of the more played FPS games back in the day, along with titles like Counter-Strike and Half-Life 2.

Unfortunately apart from the release of Unreal Tournament III back in 2007, we have not heard word about a new Unreal Tournament game since and given that it’s been 7 years, safe to say many think that it’s about time that a new game is announced. Sorry to disappoint but it seems that Epic Games will not be releasing a new Unreal Tournament game anytime soon. (more…)

Irish Funeral Home Plans To Stream Funeral Proceedings

Irish Funeral Home Plans To Stream Funeral ProceedingsFunerals are typically a very somber and sad affair, and for the most part they’re pretty low-tech. After all most of the time it just involves relatives and friends coming together to say the final farewell before the casket is lowered into the ground or before it is cremated.

However an Irish company has decided to make funerals a slightly more hi-tech affair by offering the ability to stream funerals onto the internet as part of the company’s new business venture. Wait, isn’t this a little morbid not to mention an invasion of privacy for mourners who wish to grieve in private? (more…)

Initiative Harnesses The Sun To Power Computers In Uganda

Initiative Harnesses The Sun To Power Computers In UgandaWhen it comes to stable running electricity, there are still some parts of the world which do not have access to it, which really makes us think about it and how we should not be taking our facilities, so readily available, for granted.

With schools these days starting to adopt technology as part of their teaching process, what do schools without electricity do for education? Sure there are books and chalkboards but according to John Walusimbi, a trainer with the Maendeleo Foundation, computer skills are necessary if children don’t want to be left behind in the world. South Korean Schools Trialling Software To Restrict Phone Use During Class

South Korean Schools Trialling Software To Restrict Phone Use During ClassBack in the day when mobile phones weren’t so readily available, teachers did not have to worry about kids in class being distracted by mobile phones. Then again there were other distractions, such as Gameboy, Game Gear, trading card games like Magic: The Gathering, and so on.

However nowadays with kids pretty much having a phone of their own, these distractions can be quite annoying and disruptive, which is why over in South Korea, officials are trialing an app called iSmartKeeper which basically manages a phone’s capabilities and limits what it can and cannot do. The Easy Way To Say “Sorry, Gotta Go”

This article was written on November 08, 2006 by CyberNet.

Sorry Gotta Go It happens to most people at some time or another when we just feel like saying “Sorry, I gotta go.” The problem is we never know a good excuse to get off of the phone. Maybe a few sound effects and recordings from SorryGottaGo.com will help you hang up the phone.

This site has been around for a little while but it posts new sounds every now and then. My favorite section is the one for telemarketers and the best recording, hands down, is the “How are you?” I don’t have a landline phone so I don’t receive many telemarketer calls but the next time I do I’ll be ready and armed. Actually, that one would be funny to play for anyone who asks how you are doing. 😀

Almost all of the files are MP3′s but there are a few WAV files in the mix. Just pull up your favorite media player and start having some fun. I’m sure your co-workers will get a real kick out of them. 😉
