When Apple launched the Mac Pro, they claimed that the computer would be able to support up to 64GB of RAM. For the average user and even the hardcore gamer, 64GB of RAM is more than plenty, in fact one could even argue that for the average consumer, going beyond 16GB might be a little excessive.
However as the Mac Pro was not designed for the average consumer, but aimed at professionals who might need the power to render graphics, edit movies, and produce songs, there might be times when 64GB of RAM might just not be enough. (more…)
