According to an earlier rumor, it has been suggested that Apple could be gearing up to release another variant of the iPhone 5c, except that this model will come with 8GB of storage which is even lower than the default storage from before which was at 16GB.

We’re not sure why Apple would want to release an iPhone 5c with even less storage space, but chances are that it will be priced cheaper, which would then make it more appealing to those shopping on a budget. However it seems that not only will Apple be refreshing the iPhone 5c with a lower capacity model, but they will be refreshing its iPad 4 as well. (more…)

Active volcanoes, for obvious reasons, are hard to study up close. They’re dangerous to human-piloted aircraft — as well as human bodies — which means footage of active craters is difficult to obtain.

YouTuber Shaun O’Callaghan, however, figured out a way: with a quadcopter. He attached a GoPro action camera to a DJI Phantom and flew that baby right into the crater of Mount Yasur, an active volcano on Tanna Island, Vanuatu.

Amazingly, the drone escaped unscathed — even getting up close and personal with lava that can reach temperatures up to 1,200 degrees Celsius — and O’Callaghan successfully demonstrated that volcanoes are awesome.

I can’t quite describe the feeling I got while watching this simple video from creative misfits Lernert & Sander. They’re systematically unwinding beautiful, designer-label knitwear until all that’s left is perfect balls of wool. And somehow, it’s totally satisfying and strangely unsettling in equal measures.

When it comes to smartphone platform market share, iOS and Android are currently dominating. Android has managed to nab first place followed by iOS, with Windows Phone and BlackBerry lagging behind. However this is based on overall market share and obviously there are markets in which one platform does better than the other.

Over in Romania, it seems that Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform is holding its own and has reportedly managed to overtake Apple’s market share in the region. This is based on data collected from GfK and confirmed by Vodafone and Microsoft in the country. (more…)
