Panasonic has officially introduced their latest Windows 8.1 tablet, the ToughPad 4K UT-MA6. This business rugged tablet sports a 20-inch 3840 x 2560 4K IPS 10-point multi-touch display, a 2.1GHz Intel Core i7-3687U vPro processor, an NVIDIA Quadro K1000M graphics, a 16GB RAM, a 256GB SSD, an SDXC card slot, a built-in Smart Card Reader, dual cameras (0.9MP front & 5MP rear), a LAN port, a USB 3.0 port, a mini DisplayPort and runs on Windows 8.1 Pro out of the box. Buffalo has also announced their latest 24x external DVD writer, the DVSM-24U2T. Specs-wise, the drive is equipped with a USB 2.0 connection interface, TurboUSB function for improving the effective transfer rate by optimizing the mechanism for the transfer of USB (shorten the waiting time, and free of stress) and promises to provide write speeds of up to 24x for DVD-R/+R. Before the term “selfies” was coined, people were already doing it, although we guess now that the action comes with a name, we’re starting to see more of it these days. In fact the most popular selfie was courtesy of Ellen Degeneres who managed to take one during the Oscar’s show, where her post on Twitter soon became viral and beat out Obama’s “Four more years” tweet.

Buffalo hits back with a new line of USB 3.0 portable hard drives, the Mini Station HD-PLFU3. Coming in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB capacities (black & white color options), these portable hard drives feature a USB 3.0 connection interface, come with a TurboPC EX2 software to increase up to 20% of data storage capacity and are backed by a one year warranty. In the past, Apple has gotten a fair amount of flak regarding working conditions in the factories of their partners, such as Foxconn. Apple has since made efforts to change that perception by instating rules and regulations that would ensure that their manufacturing partners adhere to certain guidelines.
In fact these guidelines extend to the use of conflict material in Apple products to ensure that certain components are not sourced from particular regions in the world. However it seems that despite Apple’s best practices to ensure that their partners follow their guidelines, there are some who feel that Apple has not done enough. (more…)

When you think of the brand Lenovo, chances are you probably think of laptops and not necessarily tablets or smartphones, despite the fact that Lenovo has released those types of products in the past. In fact as far as being an Android manufacturer is concerned, we’re not sure if their size might match up to other players in the market, like Samsung, LG, HTC, Sony, and so on.
However a recent report from DigiTimes has suggested that it is possible that Lenovo could soon become the second largest Android manufacturer, right behind Samsung. Why and how this is possible? Well apparently Lenovo’s acquisition of Motorola Mobility from Google will play a huge role in helping Lenovo achieve that goal. (more…)
