Hasta La Gadget!

It’s no surprise that so much anticipation has built up around the launch of The Last of Us on the PS4. The game was one of the best to hit the PS3 in its long history and was one of the best games of the year last year. PS4 gamers have had tidbits of detail about the game coming to the new Sony console.

We heard before that the game was coming this summer. That is a rather vague launch window though. Several major game retailers have now tipped a new launch date for the game. Target, Best Buy, and GameFly all list the launch date for the game as June 20.

Uncoincidentally, that is just about a week after E3 wraps up this summer. The launch date hasn’t been officially confirmed, but with so many retailers showing the same date, it’s almost a sure thing.

It does seem as though acquiring another company is the “in thing” these days, and Twitter continues with that trend by purchasing Gnip. It is said that Twitter users share and discuss their interests every single day without fail, talking about the happenings around the world. Such public tweets are able to reveal a wide range of insights, allowing the likes of academic institutions, journalists, marketers, brands, politicians and developers to make use of aggregated Twitter data in order to figure out trends, analyze sentiment, find breaking news, and connect with customers, among others.

Allis Markham is a taxidermist for the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles. She also owns Prey, a taxidermy shop and school. Allis’ friend Emily is a fan of Game of Thrones, so she decided to give her a unique gift: a three-eyed crow.

After preparing the deceased crow’s body through procedures that would make Saw look like Teletubbies had the bird been alive, Allis cut a hole on the bird’s head, set a third crow eye on the exposed skull with clay and then made an eye ring using Apoxie Sculpt. As a final touch, she had the crow perch on a copy of A Feast for Crows.
