Lenovo Z40 & Z50 Entertainment Focused Laptops AnnouncedLaptops can be used for a variety of different things. It can be used primarily for work, or it can be used for entertainment purposes. Sure, a home theater PC setup would probably be ideal but for those on the go or for students who want to enjoy some music or movies before classes, laptops are probably a better way to go about it.

If that describes you or someone you know, Lenovo might have something for you guys in the form of their Z40 and Z50 laptops, which according to the company will be entertainment-focused. This is evidenced with the laptop’s sporting an optional Full HD 1920×1080 display. It will also pack a Dolby Home Theater sound system and will be powered by AMD’s APUs as well the option to go for AMD’s R7 GPU if gaming is what you’re after.

Lenovo Z40 & Z50 Entertainment Focused Laptops AnnouncedInterestingly enough while most computers and laptops seem to do away with the need for an optical drive, Lenovo has decided to keep it with the Z40 and the Z50. It will pack a DVD player/burner which users can use to watch movies with or listen to CDs. The laptops will also measure just under an inch thick meaning you should be able to bring it around with you no problem.

Lenovo’s Z series of laptops are expected to be priced starting at $579 and will go up depending on your configuration. The Lenovo Z40 will be available in the beginning of May while the Lenovo Z50 is expected to see a release later in August.

Lenovo A540 AIO Desktop PC Announced

Lenovo A540 AIO Desktop PC AnnouncedAll in one desktop computers are usually a great way to save space, especially if your table is pretty cluttered. They also tend to look more sleek than regular desktop PCs which is also worth consideration if aesthetics is extremely important to you. Well if you’re after an AIO desktop PC, you might be interested to learn that Lenovo has recently announced the A540 AIO desktop PC.

Part of Lenovo’s A series of desktops, the A540 will pack a 23.8-inch Full HD 1920×1080 IPS display. It will also feature a body made from aluminum which helps lend itself to that premium feel and look, and measuring just 4mm thin at its edge, the result is a pretty sleek looking device. The display of the A540 can also be adjusted anywhere between -5 degrees to 90 degrees, allowing users to position it however they want.

This is important because the display is also a touchscreen display and will support 10-finger touch input thanks to the fact that it will be running on Windows 8.1. Other hardware specifications includes a GPU that users can configure up to a NVIDIA GeForce GT 840A, and Intel 4th-gen processors that go up to Core i7. Lenovo has also paid attention to the sound and has included JBL speakers with Dolby Home Theatre, along with NFC that will allow users to transfer files wirelessly.

According to Lenovo, the A540 is expected to be made available in the beginning of July where customers can expect to get their hands on one starting at $1,279.99, with the prices expected to go up when higher-end hardware has been selected.
