Apple Might Consider NFC For Next Generation iPhone

Apple Might Consider NFC For Next Generation iPhone

Most of the mobile payment services are powered by NFC (Near Field Communication), this technology is commonly found in most mid-range and high-end smartphones. Apple has always kept the iPhone out of this loop. The company’s smartphone has never come with NFC built-in, which means that iPhone users can’t use these services. That might be about to change. Reports and surveys indicate that the popularity of music streaming services is on the rise, particularly in the U.S., where digital music downloads have dipped considerably over the past year. We’ve already covered the insane case of a Chinese restaurant menu that served as a successful point of infiltration for hackers to access the private computers of an unnamed oil company, so I won’t go into much more detail. However, there was a brief moment in the original New York Times story that deserves a quick shoutout here.

First Marijuana Vending Machine Unveiled In Colorado

Colorado’s first marijuana vending machine was rolled onto the patio at Montana’s Smokehouse in Avon yesterday. It not in use just yet, it will be installed today, one full week before 4/20. Consumers can access this vending machine, whereas in California they can only be installed in medical dispensaries behind counters, and only “budtenders” have access.

Amazon Working On Eighth Generation Of Delivery Drones

A few months back Amazon unveiled Prime Air. Its a service that aims to deliver goods purchased through the online marketplace within half an hour, and to do so, it would employ drones. Sure, Amazon Prime Air is an optimistic idea, one that can’t quite literally take off right now due to various legal and technical issues. Until those are resolved, the service is grounded. But the company has been working hard in the meantime. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos says that they are already in the design phase of seventh and eighth generation delivery drones.
