Next Vivo Smartphone Could Get “True Tone” Dual LED Flash

Next Vivo Smartphone Could Get “True Tone” Dual LED FlashVivo did tease the masses concerning their upcoming smartphone a week ago, and it seems that more details on said device have surfaced. Apparently, China-based Vivo has shared more information concerning the camera via its official Weibo (Weibo happens to be the Twitter equivalent in China) page, touting that the main camera behind the next generation flagship smartphone will boast of a two-tone, dual-LED flash that has been given the nickname “True Tone”.

This particular setup will be the same as the one found in the Apple iPhone 5s, not to mention the recently released HTC One (M8). Just what does a “True Tone” flash offer? For starters, it will merge LED lights in white and yellow so that your captured photos would end up with a better color balance across the board.

There is no official name attached to the successor of the Vivo Xplay 3S, although we do know that it will be the first device of an X-Series range of handsets, sporting extensive multimedia capabilities that are predicted thanks to the highly possible inclusion of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC, 3GB RAM, and 32GB of internal memory. How much are you willing to fork out for this next generation flagship device from Vivo when it becomes available?

Skype For Modern Windows 2.7 Introduces New Features

Skype For Modern Windows 2.7 Introduces New FeaturesSkype has just rolled out a brand new version of Skype for modern Windows, where you will be given the ability to manage your availability considering just how hectic your schedule can get in the long run. For instance, if you opt to be Invisible, you are still able to receive incoming messages, although to the world out there, you are not around to pick up those messages, making it somewhat akin to your SMS inbox on your handset – you can reply at your own leisurely pace.

Apart from that, there are moments out there when you simply want to disconnect from the world, and what better way to do so than to sign out completely? This option has been reintroduced, and considering how there is a growing number of apps that intend for you to remain on always, one can always take the pro-active step of being plugged out from any form of intrusions.

How do you like getting more control over them messaging apps that are so prevalent these days? It can be rather refreshing to get out from time to time and disconnect yourself from the virtual world in order to hook up to the real world with actual, physical people. [Press Release]

Kyocera Verve Announced, Headed For Sprint And Boost Mobile

Kyocera Verve Announced, Headed For Sprint And Boost MobileKyocera has just announced the Verve handset that will go on sale from both Sprint and Boost Mobile. The Kyocera Verve happens to be a feature phone that will come with a traditional number pad on the front, and sports the ability to slide sideways in order to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard right under it – making it a throwback to an older era where slider phones were all the rage. Do not expect anything groundbreaking – this is a feature phone after all.

As for the hardware that can be found on the Kyocera Verve, you would have to learn how to cozy up to a 2.4” display, a 2MP camera, Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, a speakerphone, and a stereo headset jack. Wait a minute here, let me check my calendar and see whether Kyocera was stuck in a time bubble somewhere and still thought that this is 2005 or something.

Sprint claims that the Kyocera Verve has an operating system that is ideal for heavy texters, where it will be limited to CDMA 1X-Advanced and will not support LTE connectivity. Sprint is currently offering the Kyocera Verve for free, although you will have to fork out $5.42 each month for two years. I guess the Kyocera Verve will target those who think that they have no need whatsoever to jump aboard the smartphone bandwagon and want something that simply works. [Press Release]

Nokia Solar Energy Suit Could Offer Alternative Phone Charging Option

Using solar panels to harness the power of the sun is definitely not new at all, and best of all is, you do not need any kind of direct sunlight for it to work. Well, new technology is constantly being researched and developed to increase the efficiency levels of a solar panel, not to mention make them a whole lot more robust as well as giving them the ability to withstand abuse. Nokia too, intends to look more into sustainability initiatives, and in the video that you can view above, Nokia’s “Solar Energy Suit” might be able to keep your smartphone juiced throughout the entire day.

Of course, this is still extremely early in its research and development phase, but to be able to keep a Lumia 1520 handset fully charged all day long with indoor light is not an achievement to be sneezed at. Imagine the future where you will not need to remember to plug in a charger to charge your handset at the end of the day, and it would also mean one less power adapter to carry around whenever you go traveling into a foreign country.

I suppose it would be rather weird to wear the solar panel suit of armor all day long, but hopefully advancements in the future will not make wearing one of these to be a social faux pas.

I love it when Thunderbird F-16s fly crazy close to make a mirror image

It never gets old. My mind never stops being blown. The US Air Force pilots who somehow fly their Thunderbird F-16s so impossibly close like this will never become any less impressive. I wouldn’t even walk this close to another human, let alone touch tails in mid-air.
