When Google announced Android Wear, they also announced some companies that would be taking advantage of its platform which included LG and Motorola. While LG did tease some press images of the G Watch on its Facebook page, the company did not mention when we might be able to look forward to the device and how much it will cost, at least until now.
According to the folks at Pocket-lint, it seems that they have managed to confirm with LG the availability and pricing of the upcoming LG G Watch. Assuming it is a global release or perhaps a simultaneous release for certain markets, we can look forward to the LG G Watch hitting the shelves before July where it is expected to be priced around £180 in the UK, which is about $300 after conversion. There are some who take offense to others wearing Google Glass. We guess it’s because they are worried that they are being secretly recorded and that it is an invasion of their privacy that they’re not taking too kindly to. Well perhaps those people might feel a little differently when they find out that by donning a pair of Google Glass, Dr. Steve Horng might have actually helped save a life.
According to Dr. Horng, he believes this was possible because Google Glass allowed him to pull up the patient’s medical history and allergy information without him having to go to a computer to check, thus saving him precious minutes. The patient in question was suffering from a massive brain bleeding and it was discovered that normal blood pressure medication would not have worked due to the patient’s allergy.
It is because of this that Dr. Horng was able to begin treatment immediately and could have potentially saved the patient from permanent disability or even death. “Google Glass enabled me to view this patient’s allergy information and current medication regimen without having to excuse myself to log in to a computer, or even lose eye contact.”
For those wondering, this is not your typical Google Glass that you will be able to purchase from Google. The device itself is a Glass but has been modified by a company called Wearable Intelligence who reformats the software to lock it down for specific uses and context, and in this case, the ability to call up patient information as well as speech recognition technology that can recognize medical terms.
At the moment these devices are being trialed at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Dr. Horng is one in five doctors that are currently testing it out.

While the Sony Xperia Z2 has been launched in countries such as Singapore, its release in North America has been delayed. In a way this is semi-good news since it allows other reviewers to get their hands on the device and run some tests to help you make a more informed decision, although if you’ve had your heart set on it, we can only imagine the wait is excruciating.
That being said, the Sony Xperia Z2’s camera is no slouch as we found out during our hands-on preview of the device. In fact according to DxOMark, they have found that in terms of smartphone cameras, the Sony Xperia Z2 takes the cake and even manages to beat out the Nokia 808 PureView, a device which has been regarded by many to have a pretty damn good camera, so that’s saying something.
According to their findings, it seems that the Xperia Z2 is currently the best smartphone camera to date and is sitting at the top above the 808 PureView, the Xperia Z1, the iPhone 5s, the Galaxy S4, and even the Lumia 1020, all of which have proven to sport pretty good cameras which is a testament to the Xperia Z2’s camera capabilities.
However not everything is perfect as DxOMark did find a couple of imperfections. For example they claim that the white balance on the photos was not perfect, neither was its color shading, and there were even some flaring issues in some photos, but we guess these issues did not impact the overall score too much. Also unless you’re a professional photographer, chances are these are some issues that you might have missed out on unless you were looking for it specifically.

The goal of water-resistant devices is to seal the device up completely to prevent water from seeping into any holes, gaps, or ports that could damage the internals. While Sony is advertising the Xperia Z2 to have water-resistant capabilities, it seems that due to manufacturing defects, perhaps the Xperia Z2 might not be as water-resistant as it could be.
According to a report from Singapore, Xperia Z2 owners have discovered that there is a gap at the top right hand corner of their device (pictured above). It might not be noticeable in darker colors of the phone, but on the white model it is pretty obvious. These customers have since voiced concerns that this could allow water to seep in and damage the phone’s internal components. (more…)

We Will Live Again is a fascinating documentary on the Cryonics Institute, the place where 99 dead human bodies are stored at freezing temperatures in hopes that they’ll be able to be revived and live again in another life. It’s crazy and bizarre and eerie in all the right ways.
A while back we saw some schematics that allegedly belonged to that of the upcoming iPhone 6. Whether those schematics are right on the money remains to be seen, but in the meantime we’ve also seen some renders being created based on said schematics.
Recently the folks at MacRumors have decided to try their hand at creating renders based on the schematics as well and have commissioned designer Ferry Passchier to come up with some designs that would look like they could belong to the final product, and as you can see in the image above and below, it certainly looks pretty good.
