It was only a matter of time
As part of a recent top level management shift, Phil Spencer was crowned as the head of Microsoft’s Xbox division. A few months back when there was endless speculation about Steve Ballmer’s successor, it was rumored multiple times that the new CEO could potentially sell off the Xbox division. When Satya Nadella got the job, he initially said that Microsoft must focus on mobile and cloud. The fact that he left Xbox out of that discussion added more fuel to the fire, though Nadella later did acknowledge the importance of the company’s gaming arm.
In an interview with Edge Magazine, Spencer confidently says that Xbox will continue to remain a part of Microsoft, adding that the division will play a major part in the company’s future strategy. “Xbox is maybe the most relevant brand that Microsoft has with consumers today,” Spencer said. This should hopefully quash rumors for now that Microsoft is looking to dump its Xbox division.
Interestingly, Phil Spencer happens to be the first senior Microsoft executive to directly talk about sale rumors. Spencer has also promised in the interview that additional Kinect titles will be released later this year. Moreover, he revealed that more exclusive titles will be launched for the Xbox One soon.

HTC M8 Ace Leaked
Posted in: Today's ChiliMuch has been said and done about the HTC One M8 ever since it was released, and apart from that, it seems that we also have rumors concerning the HTC One M8 mini going around. Well, apparently there is yet another HTC One M8 variant, where serial leakster @evleaks has referred to this particular device as the “HTC M8 Ace”.
Unfortunately for us and the rest of the world, the HTC M8 Ace that @evleaks showed is nothing much to look at – other than the fact that the overall design does not seem to veer too far away from the HTC One M8, sporting its now signature rounded corners as well as an HTC logo located right below its display. The display’s image has been blurred out, but some enterprising sleuths decided to make some guesses concerning it, with the possibility of it being a green Sense 6 screenshot that is not too different from the one found in the HTC One M8 press images.
Does the HTC M8 Ace arrive in a shade of red? Perhaps, which makes it all the more interesting, since the HTC One M8 is currently available in gray, silver and gold colors. What do you make of it all?

We did talk about how the U.S. Navy has every intention to deploy a railgun on their ships by the time 2016 arrives, but railguns are not the only weapons of choice for their fleet. It seems that Navy engineers happen to be making final adjustments to a laser weapon prototype which will deploy aboard the USS Ponce later this summer, being a first of its kind to boot. This prototype happens to be an improved version of the Laser Weapon System (LaWS), where it will undergo at-sea testing in the Persian Gulf.
Chief of Naval Research Rear Adm. Matthew Klunder shared, “This is a revolutionary capability. It’s absolutely critical that we get this out to sea with our sailors for these trials, because this very affordable technology is going to change the way we fight and save lives.”
Navy leaders have done their bit to make sure that directed-energy weapons remain a top priority when it comes to countering asymmetric threats, where among them include unmanned and light aircraft as well as small attack boats which could prove to be an obstacle when it comes to denying U.S. forces access to selected areas. High-energy lasers happen to be the ideal weapon that counter such threats at the speed of light without sacrificing on accuracy and limited ammunition count. [Press Release]
