Super Press Start Shows Off All SNES Start Screens

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System from Nintendo (obviously) has proven itself to be quite the cultural icon for those of us who grew up in the 1980s and 1990s, and Nintendo became the general term to describe video games at home, at least before the days of the PlayStation and Xbox. Having a relatively long lifespan, the venerable SNES obviously had its fair share of games released for the platform, and you can view the full title list here. What’s more amazing is, this particular compilation of all start screens for every single Super Nintendo Entertainment System game.

    Tetris Played On Philadelphia Skyscraper

History was created on Saturday night, when a game of Tetris was played on the walls of a 29-story Philadelphia skyscraper, where that gargantuan surface hosted what many deem to be the “world’s largest game of Tetris,” and chances are pretty good that this will also be the largest videogame overall in the world, too. Just such a spectacle was made possible thanks to a team that was led by Drexel University computer science professor Frank Lee, who managed to hack into the LED lighting system of the Cira Centre building that is located in downtown Philadelphia, resulting in this humongous Tetris game which could be played at any time throughout the Philly Tech Week.

Xbox 360 Emulation On Xbox One Mulled

Xbox 360 Emulation On Xbox One MulledIt is one thing to use existing technology on modern day consoles to emulate the older generation of consoles and their games, but just one generation behind might prove to be a far more difficult mountain to climb. According to Microsoft’s Frank Savage, they are thinking about the possibility of emulating the Xbox 360 on the Xbox One, when asked about such plans at the recent BUILD 2014 conference, saying, “There are, but we’re not done thinking them through yet, unfortunately. It turns out to be hard to emulate the PowerPC stuff on the X86 stuff. So there’s nothing to announce, but I would love to see it myself.”

Microsoft Windows Comes To The Car Now

Microsoft Windows Comes To The Car NowYes, Windows of the virtual kind instead of the ones that you wind up and down in your vehicle. From the desktop, the operating system war has moved on to portable devices such as smartphones and tablets, and into the living room with Apple TV, plans of Android TV, as well as other set-top boxes, now we have another dimension to think about – the vehicle. Most of the time, the driver is supposed to concentrate on the road ahead, but it seems that smart operating systems are slowly but surely making their way into this niche market. At BUILD 2014, a next-gen Windows car concept was demonstrated during a panel called “Windows and the Internet of Things”.

    Arirang AS1201 Knocks Off China’s Uniscope U1201

Arirang AS1201 Knocks Off China’s Uniscope U1201Imitation is supposed to be the most sincere form of flattery, but it is not all that welcome, especially when one takes into consideration how there are stuff like copyright and patent laws out there to help protect the inventor of a particular work. Still, China has built up a reputation somewhat for knock-offs when it comes to a variety of items, and it seems that they are now on the receiving end of such a move by North Korea in the form of the Arirang AS1201 smartphone.
