Just a half-year after Sony announced the dope A7 and A7r full-frame compact interchangeable-lens cameras
We don’t know the identity of the mystery man in these photos, but, starting in the photobooth boom of the 1930s, he began snapping black-and-whites of himself. Thirty years later he had hundreds of nearly identical shots, and now the entire collection is being shown to the public for the very first time. This is some Amélie-in-real-life biz, and hoo-boy it’s fascinating.
It wouldn’t be NAB without a major 4K announcement from Sony, and that’s exactly what we’ve got here. The company introduced the Alpha A7s at its Las Vegas press event today, bringing 4K video to the popular full-frame mirrorless camera line. The “s”…

We think it’s fair to say that Grace Digital has a colorful catalog of products. Everything it makes seems to have a quirk or a twist that, at the very least, stops us ever getting bored hearing about them. The 3play Bluetooth audio receiver is a…
It happens to the best of us: You stayed up late getting down on a Tuesday night (read: re-watching True Detective and eating Seamless until 5am), and come Wednesday, you can barely keep your eyes open. Desk napping is far too risky, so what’s a comatose professional-about-town to do? Why, pull up Google Naps, of course.
In February, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that she’s going to talk to the President of France, Francois Hollande, about building a separate communications network for Europe so as to stop data from passing through the U.S. The U.S. has criticized such proposals and has said that they may breach international trade laws. Office of the U.S. Trade Representative said that obstructions to cross-border data flows are a serious and growing concern.

Back at the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S5. There had been a lot of rumors about the expected specifications prior to the announcement, and not all rumors turned out to be true. Since then many have been wondering what this means for the Galaxy Note 4, and if its possible that the popular phablet might not come with all that its expected to. Partial Galaxy Note 4 specs have been purportedly leaked, but its still too soon to be certain of what Galaxy Note 4 has in store.
Folks at CNMO claim that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is going to have a 1,440×2,560 Quad HD display. This is one of the most rehashed rumors about the Galaxy S5, but ultimately it came with a full HD display. Its not surprising that the 2K speculation is now focused on the Note 4, given that the S5 let everyone who was wishing for it down.
It is also claimed that Galaxy Note 4 is going to be dustproof and waterproof, just like the Galaxy S5. This would be the first time the phablet would be able to better resist the elements. Not much else is known as yet. It is unclear if Samsung intends to keep the faux leather back it introduced last year. Given that it has extended it to laptops as well, there’s a chance that faux leather might not go anywhere.
Samsung usually unveils a new iteration of the Galaxy Note phablet at IFA in Berlin. This isn’t due until September, so we have quite a bit of waiting to do.

The dual-SIM Galaxy S5 has officially been launched in China. Samsung went through with the launch rather quietly, without much fanfare. Bearing model number G9009D, there’s nothing really different about this particular variant, apart from the aforementioned fact that its capable of running two SIMs simultaneously. The dual-SIM Galaxy S5 will go on sale in China on April 11th, alongside the standard variant.
One SIM slot in this variant supports CDMA 200 and the other supports GSM. Samsung has confirmed that this variant is exclusive to China Mobile, which also happens to be the world’s largest mobile carrier, touting over 750 million subscribers. It is unclear if the company has any plans to launch a similar variant in other markets. Dual-SIM smartphones are particularly sought-after in emerging markets, and Samsung has catered to this need in the past as well. It may make no sense to most customers in the West, but a lot of people in this world prefer having the ability to run two SIMs side by side.
Everything else remains just the same. The 2.5Ghz quadcore Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage, 16 megapixel ISOCELL camera, 5.1-inch full HD display and 2,800mAh battery are all there. The dual-SIM Samsung Galaxy S5 will retail for $850 or CNY5,200.

Let’s face it; it’s hard to please a cat. Toys are one way to do that,
but cats are finicky, so you have to rotate them. One day your cat will
be rolling around with a catnip-stuffed mouse and the next she’s as
blazé as a sphinx when you toss it. So, you have to keep a stash of
toys, freshened up with some good catnip, before you re-introduce them
every few weeks or so. It’s cat psychology… as far as it goes.
