As you might have heard by now, T-Mobile will be updating its Windows Phone handsets, the Nokia Lumia 925 and the Lumia 521 to Windows Phone 8.1, but what about other Windows Phone handsets on other carriers? Will they be updated to the latest build of Windows Phone as well?
The good news is that as far Sprint is concerned, they are on board as well and have recently announced that they will be updating both the Samsung ATIV S Neo and the HTC 8XT to Windows Phone 8.1. Unfortunately just like T-Mobile, Sprint declined to provide us with an exact date of when they will be updating both devices, but promised it would be arriving “this summer”. (more…)

While Samsung might be boasting about the Galaxy S5’s IP67 rating which makes it both water resistant and dustproof, they did not mention anything about durability, but then again the Galaxy S5 was not designed to be a rugged phone so we can only assume that if it were to be dropped or run over by a car, you’d probably have to go get yourself a new one.
That being said, the folks over at TechSmartt have decided to put the Galaxy S5 through a drop test and compare it again the Samsung Galaxy S4, its predecessor. Now both phones are made from plastic, although in the case of the Galaxy S5, it features a textured back similar to the Galaxy Note 3 albeit with a different feel, so there’s nothing about the phone that would make it more rugged. Just the other day thanks to a tip by @evleaks, it was suggested that Motorola was working on a new Moto G handset called the Moto G Forte. At that time not much was known about the device but based on the photo and the rumors, it was suggested that the handset could be a more rugged version of the Moto G and could even come with waterproof capabilities as well.
It turns out that reality is definitely more boring because it seems that the Moto G Forte, as it has been launched in Latin American markets, is basically a Moto G that comes with the Grip Shell case preinstalled on it right out of the box. (more…)

No doubt phones that are plated in gold or coated in precious stones do look pretty flashy, but they also look a little ostentatious, but then again we guess there is a market for such devices otherwise we’re pretty sure companies would not even bother, right?
Well if you were impressed with the gold plated HTC One from 2013, you might be interested to learn that HTC will be plating their recently announced HTC One M8 in gold as well. It’s safe to say that datacenters, which tend to be pretty huge, require a lot of power to keep them operational. Not only is the power needed to keep the servers running, but it is also required to keep them extremely cool as well lest they overheat and cause a bunch of other problems.
As we know there are many ways to generate electricity either through the burning of coal, nuclear, or going green by using kinetic or solar energy, which is what companies like Apple, Facebook, and Google are doing, and according to Greenpeace, they found Apple to be the most environmentally friendly of the bunch.
