Nokia 3310 upgraded with 41MP PureView Camera

nokia-3310-pureviewYou know what they say – if you want to get something done, do it once and do it right, otherwise do not bother doing it at all. The Nokia 3310 has been quite the hallmark for Nokia when it comes to having released a successful handset to the market. Back in the year 2000 when the Y2K bug proved to be a bust, the Nokia 3310 took the world by storm, selling more than 125 million units along the way, and even appearing in its fair share of memes over the years to show just how durable and tough this particular handset is. This April Fool’s, Nokia wants to pull our legs by claiming that the venerable Nokia 3310 is going to make a comeback of sorts with updated hardware that will keep up with the times.

Yes sir, apparently, the new Nokia 3310 will now feature PureView capability while staying as close as possible to its original design. The inclusion of PureView translates to the addition of a 41MP PureView camera with Zeiss optics and Xenon flash, where it will ditch the monochrome display and run on a modified version of Windows 8 that will be able to fit the unique ‘ClearDiamond’ three-inch touch screen.

Of course, who can forget the classic metallic dark blue shade that the original Nokia 3310 came in? The Nokia 3310 with PureView will feature that in addition to more updated colors such as yellow, blue, red and green. There will still be three ‘soft-touch’ navigation keys hanging around, albeit these will feature a Windows Phone ‘home’ button which will introduce you straight back to the Start Screen.

Not only that, both LiveTiles and App Folders will also be supported, and this particular handset will also arrive pre-installed with MS Office, Xbox Games, Outlook and OneDrive that boasts of up to 7GB of free cloud storage right out of the box. What an imagination!

Rosetta Stone Klingon Edition: ‘Sup Qoh?

ThinkGeek came prepared for April Fools’ Day this year, with a number of fake items that are silly but not too outrageous that they can’t ever exist. A cynic would say that they’re using the holiday to drive interest up in products that they already plan on making. But one of their joke items doesn’t need to be real, because such is the demand for it that it actually already exists, though not in this exact form. I’m talking about the Rosetta Stone: Klingon edition.

They even had Worf himself pitch in on the joke:

The thing is, if you really want to learn Klingon, you already have a variety of educational books and software to choose from. Because that’s the kind of world we live in. Our civilization is so advanced we get to have the punchline before the setup.

These Time-Warp Photos Show Six Cities In the Past and Present

Cities change: skyscrapers go up, row houses are torn down, neighborhoods gentrify, earthquakes destroy. Vintage photographs of cities can be fascinating in and of themselves, but the familiar unfamiliarity of these time-warped photographs are especially intriguing.
