LG G3 Mini Rumored To Be In The Works

LG G3 Mini Rumored To Be In The WorksWe have been hearing rumors about the LG G3 for a while now and what we know about the device is that it could feature a 2K display, but other than that, the rest is pretty much speculation. However thanks to new rumors that have surfaced, it seems that not only will there be an LG G3, but there will apparently be an LG G3 mini as well.

We’re not sure what it is with Android OEMs and creating mini versions of their handsets, but presumably there is a demand out there otherwise they wouldn’t have bothered, right? In any case the LG G3 mini rumors have started due to a “B2 mini” codename that has surfaced. Given that the LG G3 is expected to be known as the B2, the B2 mini is presumably the LG G3 mini.

That being said, the LG G3 mini has yet to be officially announced but in the meantime, here are some of its rumored specs. The handset will pack a 720p HD display, although the size of the display remains unknown. It will also run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat which is actually a good thing, and it will also pack an 8MP rear-facing camera, at least this is based on the resolution of the photos which sets it at 8MP.

Now we should note that none of this is official yet so take it with a grain of salt. There’s also no telling when LG will announce the LG G3 or the LG G3 mini for that matter, but what do you guys think? Should Android OEMs really cut down on the multitude of releases? Isn’t it getting a little bit overboard?

BlackBerry Classic Pegged For November Release

BlackBerry Classic Pegged For November ReleaseDuring MWC 2014, BlackBerry announced that they were working on a device called the BlackBerry Classic. Unfortunately apart from the fact that we know that it will pack an integrated trackpad, much like the BlackBerry devices from the good old days, not much else is known about the device, such as how it looks like, hardware specs, and availability.

The handset is currently pegged for a release later this year but thanks to a recent interview that BlackBerry’s CEO, John Chen, did with USA Today, it has been revealed that the BlackBerry Classic will most likely see a release in November, although no specific dates were mentioned, but it’s definitely something to look forward to.

According to Chen, “It will include a keyboard and a good touch-screen, very fast Internet, Web-browsing capability and multimedia capability. But also it will be very productive and very secure. So, all the familiar things that people love, with some new technology updated. That will come out in November along with the server that helps companies manage devices.”

Chen has stated before how the BlackBerry Classic will appeal to old school BlackBerry users. It’s actually an interesting choice that BlackBerry is making. While OEMs are starting to move towards smartphones with even bigger screens than before, they’re actually working on creating more devices with physical keyboards. Will it pay out for BlackBerry? We guess we’ll just have to wait until November to find out.

Apple And Google Reportedly Vying For Mobile Game Exclusives

Apple And Google Reportedly Vying For Mobile Game ExclusivesBack in the day it used to be which platform had more apps available for it, but as developers started to craft apps for both iOS and Android simultaneously, it soon became a matter of which app is available on which platform exclusively, kind of like Xbox versus PlayStation in which exclusive games can help gamers decide which platform to go for.

That being said, it seems that Apple and Google are seriously considering taking things to the next level and are looking to provide top game developers incentives to create for the platform exclusively, or at least a limited time exclusive. This is according to a report from The Wall Street Journal who claims that Apple and Google are working on vying for the attention of the top game developers.

Some of the ways that Apple is reportedly doing that is by offering premium placement. This means that games will be placed at the top part of the App Store where everyone will be able to see the games upon first glance, and whether or not gamers actually download and purchase the game is a different story, but at least it is visible.

In fact this sounds familiar because back in 2013, there were claims that EA delayed the Android release of Plants Vs Zombies 2 to allow Apple to gain an exclusive for a short period of time. While this is a good way to get games noticed, we’re not sure how well this might work out for indie developers whose games might not have been tried and proven yet, and might be overshadowed by these promotions, but what say you?

Slew Of Samsung Devices Appear On Zauba, QHD Model One Of Them

Slew Of Samsung Devices Appear On Zauba, QHD Model One Of ThemSamsung has been pretty busy, at least that’s what Zauba’s records seem to indicate. The database has recently revealed that there are a slew of Samsung handsets that are headed to India for testing, and some of these devices have yet to be announced. In fact it also seems that one of the devices that is being tested is the rumored QHD version of the Samsung Galaxy S5.

This is evidenced in the model numbers that have been spotted which includes the SM-G906S and the Sm-G906K, with the former expected to make its way onto South Korean carrier SK Telecom, while the latter will also be for another Korean carrier, KT. Based on this it seems that we can only assume that the QHD version of the Galaxy S5 could see an initial launch in South Korea before heading to other markets.

Other devices spotted includes the SM-G800F which is expected to be the Galaxy S5 Neo variant, the SM-G870A which is the Galaxy S5 Active, the SM-Z9005 which is said to be Samsung’s upcoming Tizen handset, along with a bunch of other devices that includes tablets like the Galaxy Tab 4, and so on.

There’s no way to confirm if these devices are indeed what they claim to be since these are only rumors for now, but it’s safe to say that there are a ton of Samsung handsets being tested and hopefully we will learn more soon. We’re also not sure what to make of the QHD Galaxy S5 – after all we’re sure many customers would be miffed to learn that they could have spent their money on a QHD variant if they could, especially since Samsung did not officially confirm anything, but what do you guys think?
