Crazy guys drive their car sideways on the ground

A car has four wheels but these stunt guys only need two. Watch them cruise down a road doing a sideways wheelie on a car. The road isn’t under them but right next to their window. They’re so casual and calm about it I love it.

Toshiba Shows How Project Ara’s Modularity Can Be Applied To Wearables

Toshiba Shows How Project Aras Modularity Can Be Applied To WearablesGoogle’s Project Ara is a pretty unique and interesting concept. The idea is to allow users to continuously upgrade their phones and swap out parts to create the phone of their dreams. For example right now we are pretty much limited in terms of customizability. For example you might like this phone’s design, but its camera is somewhat lacking, or you like a set of features from a particular brand but feel that its hardware could be better, and so on.

Those are the kind of problems that Project Ara wants to address, but at the same time could Project Ara be applied to wearable technology as well? It turns out that Toshiba might have thought of something like that. During the Ara Developer Conference, Toshiba’s Senior VP and Technology Executive, Shardul Kazi, took to the stage where he revealed a concept in which Ara’s modular components could be taken out of the smartphone and inserted into a wearable device.

For example if you wanted to use your smartwatch to play music, you could take out the storage unit from the smartphone and plug it into your watch and allow it to access the data on it. You could even swap out sensors, like accelerometers, gyroscopes, or maybe even health-related sensors like heart rate sensors and so on, depending on your needs.

However this is only a concept at the moment, as pointed out by Kazi. He also stated that nothing of the sort was in development right now, but it’s still a very interesting idea and it certainly does open the door to all sorts of possibilities. Of course the first step would to actually release the Ara smartphone first, which Google estimates to be in January 2015, but in the meantime what do you guys think of this idea?

Purchasing The OnePlus One Will Require An Invite

Purchasing The OnePlus One Will Require An InviteAre you planning on getting your hands on the upcoming CyanogenMod-loaded OnePlus One handset? Well if you are, it seems that the company has recently launched some kind of invite system where you basically will need to be invited in order to be able to purchase the device. Sure the device is pretty hyped given the popularity of CyanogenMod and the fact the phone packs some pretty impressive hardware, but is that it popular to be able to pull off such exclusivity?

Maybe, maybe not, but according to the company’s explanation, this has to do more with demand and supply and it is a good way to ensure that the company has enough phones for everyone, as opposed to running out of stock and disappointing customers. The invites can be had via forums, contests, as well as invites from other OnePlus One buyers, meaning that if you wanted to get your hands on the handset, you’d have to start looking around.

It’s an odd choice since we’re sure limiting pre-orders via a standard online store would be a perfectly sound way to go about it. Companies such as Apple have allowed customers to place pre-orders and it is usually on a first-come-first-serve basis. Apple has allowed shipping times to slip which no doubt frustrate customers, so perhaps this is a scenario that OnePlus One would like to avoid.

The handset is expected to see a launch on the 23rd of April and according to the company, that is when the invites will start going out to customers. If you’d like to learn more about this invite system, you can head on over to the OnePlus One forum for the details. In the meantime what do you guys think of this move?

Hitman GO Now Available In iTunes App Store

So the other day we reported that Square Enix Montreal was set to release Hitman GO on the 17th of April and sure enough they have. The game has been launched for iOS devices where it is priced at $4.99. An Android version is expected at a later date but for now, iOS users will be able to enjoy it first.

The game is a turn-based game and is very different from the original Hitman franchise. While it does a bit of stealth, the game feels more like a board game than anything. Players are tasked with certain missions in every stage where they have to ensure that they are not seen by security and try to make it to the finish point.

They are able to “take out” security guards as well as their targets by knowing them off the board, as well as hide in plants in order to conceal themselves from security. There are many stages gamers can look forward to, although to unlock new chapters, gamers will have to obtain a certain number of “stars” per chapter.

Each missions has anywhere between 1-3 objectives, so if you were to head directly to the finish point, you’d miss out on two additional stars. The game has a fair amount of replayability, especially if you want to see if there’s a better way to accomplish a mission. The game also offers in-app purchases such as hints as well as walkthroughs, but other than that you don’t really need to make any purchases to enjoy the game fully.

These Cool Architectural Pics Were Blacked Out With a Permanent Marker

White on black is a no-no in many design circles, but there are definitely exceptions to the unofficial rule—like these cool prints from Marlon de Azambuja. The Madrid-based architect took an inky permanent marker to full-color photos, eliminating everything except for the thinnest structural silhouettes.

Nikon 1 V3 Is Now Shipping

Nikon 1 V3 Is Now ShippingThe Nikon 1 V3 is one of Nikon’s newer mirrorless camera models. The camera was announced back in March and the good news is that if you were thinking about getting your hands on it, reports are now saying that the camera is currently being shipped. Interested photographers will be able to get their hands on it by heading on over to Amazon’s website or B&H, although the latter does state that it is expected to begin shipping on the 24th of April.

It should also be noted that B&H is throwing in a free Nikon FT1 mount adapter, so if you don’t mind waiting an extra week, perhaps this might be a pretty good deal. That being said if you missed our earlier coverage of the camera’s launch, here’s a quick recap for you guys. The Nikon 1 V3 will pack an 18.4MP sensor. The camera will also come with built-in WiFi connectivity and will be able to record Full HD video.

For those who want to experiment with something more creative, the Nikon 1 V3 can also record in slow-motion at 720p at 120fps. Nikon has also included a new image processor with the camera and it will now be able to shoot photos continuously at 20fps which could come in handy if you’re looking to snap action shots.

The camera will also come with a 3-inch touchscreen display that can be tilted so that you can get some pretty interesting angles, and will come bundled with a NIKKOR VR 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 PD-ZOOM kit lens, assuming that the kit lens bundle is what you were after. In terms of design, Nikon has made some changes over its predecessors, with its grip being less protruding, but other than that it is still a pretty small and compact device.

Cortana Is Off-Limits To Users Aged Below 13 Years Old

Cortana Is Off Limits To Users Aged Below 13 Years OldParents, if you’re planning on getting your child their own Windows Phone handset, you might be interested to learn that one of Windows Phone 8.1’s features, Cortana, will not be available to your kids as long as they are aged below 13 years. It has been recently discovered that users whose Microsoft account has been marked as a “child” account are not able to access Cortana.

Attempts to use the voice assistant feature will be met with a message that reads, “I’m sorry, you’ll need to be a bit older before I can help you.” Basically what this means is that if you wanted your kids to be able to use Cortana, the Microsoft account that they sign in with needs to be yours, otherwise they’d be out of luck, at least until they turn 13.

From that error message, all users are left to do is exit the screen because Cortana will not be able to function otherwise. It is unclear as to why Microsoft has decided that the minimum age to use Cortana has to be 13 years and above, but it could be a legal thing especially with regards to internet services. After all we’ve seen some restrictions when it comes to signing up for certain services that one needs to be at least 13 years and above, or in some cases, 18 and above.

Microsoft has yet to issue an official statement on the matter but in the meantime, this is definitely something to take note of, especially if you’re planning on getting your kids a Windows Phone handset, unless of course the lack of the Cortana voice assistant feature is not a big deal to you.
