Pull This Cute Portable Radiator Around The Room Like a Warm-Bodied Pet

Okay, so it’s not quite the right season, but I’ve fallen in love with this adorable Kangeri "nomadic radiator." Guide the little guy around the room and let him gently warm up your personal space, kind of like the puppy you can’t have because your apartment building won’t allow pets.

Trade In Site Sees One Third Of Galaxy S5 Buyers Switching From iPhone

Samsung’s 2014 flagship was one of the most hotly anticipated devices of this year. At MWC in February the company finally unveiled the Galaxy S5. It went on sale on April 11th in more than 150 countries around the world. A lot of customers will be upgrading from their existing phones to get their hands on this new flagship. Mobile trade-in website CompareMyMobile saw over one third, 38 percent to be precise, of all Galaxy S5 customers shifting from an iPhone.

According to the website, it witnessed a 210 percent rise in customers who traded in their iPhone 4S units in order to get a Galaxy S5. The second most traded device after the outdated iPhone was Samsung’s very own Galaxy S3 which saw a 196 percent rise in trade-ins. iPhone 5s came in third place with a 184 percent rise.

Majority of the iPhone 4S and Galaxy S3 owners may already have been itching to switch given that their two year service contracts were most likely up. Though its interesting to note that a great deal of iPhone 5s owners also opted to switch for Samsung’s latest flagship.

Samsung itself now expects the Galaxy S5 to do much better in this quarter than it had initially expected. The company hopes to ship as many as 35 million Galaxy S5 units within this quarter.

The Abyss Table Lamp is an otherworldly light source

ABYSS Table Lamp
There are everyday objects that we have become accustomed to. We all have a generic shape of a sink, toilet, desk, and other household items in our minds. Sometimes a designer will create these normal objects in a way that seems mind-blowing, but only because it changes the way we look at these commonalities. If you want to surround yourself with the unconventional, then you likely want to challenge the concept of how you perceive everyday items.

The Abyss Table Lamp by Kundalini is like no other lamp you’ve seen (you know, besides rope lights). This can be twisted into any form and keep their shape, which means it can become whatever you think isn’t going to scare you to death to see when you walk into a room. By itself, it would likely resemble a deep-sea fish, waiting for you to be close enough to strike.

This is a modular structure made from injection moulded opal polycarbonate that has high voltage LEDs. It is 43” in length, and as it is coming from a designer, the $855 price tag shouldn’t be too shocking (just kidding, that’s a load of money and you can be downright outraged if you want). Just remember, if it exists, then there must be some sort of market for it. If you like the idea, but can’t toss money out of your fancy car while driving down a gold-paved road, then this could potentially be a DIY project that could cost far less and look just as awesome.

The Plan to Keep People From Jumping Off the Golden Gate Bridge

The Plan to Keep People From Jumping Off the Golden Gate Bridge

More people have committed suicide on the Golden Gate Bridge than on any other structure in the world—someone jumps from the bridge to their death about every two weeks. But those figures could be dramatically reduced if a proposed suicide-prevention barrier is installed later this year, as advocates hope.

Nona said she based the EVA foam parts on papercraft templates posted by members of the prop maker community The 405th Infantry Division, modifying them as needed. She also made a replica of Gipsy Danger’s chain sword. It took her a total of six months, a lot of trial and error, and about $175 (USD) to finish the costume.

The Beautiful Radio Station Broadcasting From Nepal's "Hidden Kingdom"

Mustang is one of the most remote parts of Nepal: Nestled on the border of Tibet, it was one of the last parts of the country to encounter Westerners. It’s been described as a "hidden kingdom" that’s been "virtually unchanged since the 15th century," but modern technology—like radio—is coming.
