Samsung’s Galaxy Phones To Get Custom Amazon Kindle Book Store

Samsungs Galaxy Phones To Get Custom Amazon Kindle Book StoreThe Amazon Kindle app is available to download on both iOS and Android devices and it basically gives users access to Amazon’s library of ebooks. Of course the experience might be different compared to reading it on a Kindle device which uses an e-ink display, but for those who’d rather not have to carry around two separate devices, the Kindle app will do in a pinch.

However it seems that Samsung will now be getting their very own custom-built Kinde book store, thanks to a deal that Samsung and Amazon have struck up with one another. As it stands it seems that this offer is limited to the Samsung Galaxy S5 but additional Samsung Galaxy devices will soon be added to the list.

What the deal does is that it offers Galaxy owners who have been referred to the service 12 free books every year. They will get four prominent titles to choose from every month, which apparently have been chosen for Galaxy owners in mind. We’re not sure what kind of books Galaxy owners like to read since that’s pretty presumptuous, but hopefully the titles will be mainstream ones at least, so as to appeal to a wider range of readers.

Samsung seems to be on a roll regarding these exclusive services. About a week ago, it was announced that Samsung and Deezer partnered up to offer Galaxy S5 users an exclusive streaming deal. They have also announced Samsung Milk Music which is a little odd given their deal with Deezer, but it’s still an alternative nonetheless. It seems that Samsung is truly doing everything they can to get users to hop on board its products.

In any case for those interested in the Kindle deal Amazon and Samsung have agreed upon, it seems that the deal and customized book store is expected to launch in the next two weeks. Hopefully additional details will be revealed before then.

LG G3 Design Rumored To Be Pretty Similar To LG G2

LG G3 Design Rumored To Be Pretty Similar To LG G2Apart from the flagship phones announced earlier this year, there are still a handful of handsets left that many are looking forward to. This includes the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the iPhone 6, and the LG G3. So far what we know about the device, through leaks and rumors, is its possible design, its display resolution, and the possibility of it launching in June.

However in the meantime thanks to Bulgarian blog, Nixanbal, it seems that one of their inside sources has managed to get a good look at the upcoming handset and while there are no photos (just a mockup pictured above), they provided the website with a pretty detail description of the phone and what we might be able to expect.

Once again we should note that this isn’t official information so it should be taken with a grain of salt until LG makes it official, but then again Nixanbal has been pretty good when it comes to leaks so perhaps there might be some truth in their report. That being said, screen size was not determined but it is speculated that it could be a 5.5-inch display, except that it will feel smaller thanks to LG shrinking down the bezels.

The source has also described the design of the LG G3’s body to be similar to that of the LG G2. However instead of a glossy polycarbonate body, the LG G3’s body has been described to be of a smooth matte finish which we guess is similar to the Nexus 5 (also by LG). The back cover is also said to be removable which means that a microSD card can be added to expanded on its memory.

There will also be no buttons on the front or the sides. Instead the LG G3 will put all physical buttons to the back of the phone like the LG G2, and the lock key will also come with an LED light which we guess is used to indicate if it is on/off, or it could also be used as a notification LED (we’re only speculating). Other than that, the hardware specs have not been revealed so it’s still all rumors for now, so like we said earlier, take it with a grain of salt.

Box Art Hints At Mario Kart 8 Wii U Bundle

Box Art Hints At Mario Kart 8 Wii U BundleWe know that Mario Kart 8 is expected to see a release on the 30th of May, but what if you don’t have a Wii U? Well the obvious answer would be to go out and get yourself the console if you were hoping to play the game, but not just yet. Thanks to a recent image of a box art that appeared online, it seems that there will be a Mario Kart 8 Wii U bundle that could be released, thus allowing gamers to buy both the game and the console at the same time.

The bundle is said to launch on the 30th of May, which is the same time as the game itself, so you will be able to enjoy it the minute it has been released. Now Nintendo has yet to officially announce the bundle themselves, so do take it with a grain of salt for now, but at the same time we wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo indeed had such a bundle planned.

No word on how much this bundle will cost, but presumably it will be priced the same as other bundles. Based on the box art, it also seems that this bundle will include a black Wii U Premium console, a copy of the Mario Kart 8 game, as well as a free trial for Nintendo’s Wii U Karaoke app that is good for a week.

Mario Kart 8 is definitely one of the more anticipated first-party Wii U games that is expected to launch this year. The other is probably Super Smash Bros. although according to Nintendo’s announcement, the Wii U version of the game is only pegged for a winter release, but the 3DS version of the game is expected to see a release in time for summer.

Alpine And Pioneer Added To Apple’s CarPlay Website

Alpine And Pioneer Added To Apples CarPlay WebsiteWhen Apple announced CarPlay, they revealed a handful of car manufacturers that would be officially supporting the platform upon its release, but what about older car models and cars not of those brands listed on Apple’s website? We’re sure the last thing Apple wants is to shun other companies, but in the meantime both Alpine and Pioneer have since come forward and announced their plans for aftermarket CarPlay installations.

Apple’s website has since been updated and has seen both Alpine and Pioneer’s logo added to the CarPlay page, meaning that for those worried that these aftermarket solutions are not official, you can rest assured that Apple has given both Alpine and Pioneer their blessings. Both companies have recently announced that they will be bringing aftermarket solutions to older cars and brands that aren’t officially supported by Apple yet.

CarPlay support will be added through firmware updates to their existing infotainment units, but for drivers who do not have Pioneer or Alpine’s systems in their cars yet, they will be able to purchase those units where they are expected be priced between $700-$1,400 for Pioneer’s NEX series (not to be confused with Sony’s NEX series of cameras) and $500-$700 for Alpine’s systems.

Mercedes-Benz has been announced as one of the official car manufacturers to offer CarPlay systems in their future vehicles, but the car company has also stated that they are looking into offering an aftermarket solution towards the end of the year, although apart from that statement we’re not sure what Mercedes-Benz’s solution might look like. Either way if you have an older vehicle, these are aftermarket solutions you can look forward to.
