PC Support For Xbox One Control Coming “Very Soon”

PC Support For Xbox One Control Coming Very SoonThere are some PC games that are better off being played with a gamepad. Driving games, arcade style games, and fighting games are great examples of such games that would be better enjoyed with a gamepad. Now there are many options available for PC gamers at the moment, but if you were hoping to use your Xbox One’s controller with your computer, you might be pleased to learn that compatibility will be coming “very soon”.

This is according to Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb who responded to a gamer who was lamenting the lack of PC support for the Xbox One controller, to which Hyrb replied by saying, “Soon. Very soon.” Unfortunately he did not expanded on his cryptic statement, so we have no idea how soon is soon. Could it be that the update could come during E3 during Microsoft’s presentation? Perhaps, but until we hear otherwise, don’t get your hopes up just yet.

Support for the PC was reported back in 2013 where it was expected to arrive in 2014, so we guess it should be soon. This isn’t to say that the Xbox One controllers aren’t compatible – they are, it’s just that the process to get it working on the PC might not be everyone’s cup of tea, especially if they’re not very technical, not to mention it is an unofficial so perhaps it might not be as reliable.

In any case we’ll keep our eyes peeled for when the update/drivers will arrive that will add PC support, so check back with us at a later date for the details! In the meantime gamers have the option of going the unofficial route, or get their hands on an Xbox 360 controller which works fine on the PC.

Optional Kinect Could Lead To More Xbox One Games, Microsoft Claims

Optional Kinect Could Lead To More Xbox One Games, Microsoft ClaimsWhen Microsoft made the decision to remove the Kinect from the Xbox One bundle, making it an optional purchase for gamers, we’re sure some were worried that this was limiting to developers. After all if the Kinect is an optional accessory, why bother developing for it if not many gamers have a Kinect in the first place, right?

Well Microsoft begs to differ, and in a recent interview with OXM, Microsoft’s European Studios boss Phil Harrison revealed that the opposite was true. In fact he believes that by removing the Kinect, it could lead to even more games being created for the Xbox One. Basically the idea is that with the Xbox One now cheaper, it could lead to more gamers purchasing the console, which would then encourage developers to create more games for the platform.

“And fundamentally that is good for opening up the Xbox One ecosystem – the more consumers who buy Xbox One, it’s a virtuous cycle for more developers to make and more consumers to play games, and that is what we’re committed to achieving and continuing.” So far there has been evidence to suggest that there is an increased demand for the console.

This is according to video games retailer, GameStop who revealed that they have been receiving a greater amount of interest for the Xbox One after Microsoft decided to remove the Kinect and reduce the price. Harrison goes on to reassure gamers that they will not be abandoning the Kinect and that there are still big plans for the accessory.

Respawn Reinstating CTF Mode For Titanfall For PC

Respawn Reinstating CTF Mode For Titanfall For PCGood news Titanfall PC gamers, if you were missing the Capture the Flag (CTF) and Pilot Hunter modes in the game, you might be pleased to learn that Respawn Entertainment has announced that they will be bringing one of the features back. For those unfamiliar with those features because you never explored the game, Respawn had initially removed them due to the lack of players playing it.

What this meant is that gamers who did want to play it ended up being stuck in a loop when trying to be matchmade with other gamers. In fact Respawn’s stats revealed that less than 1% of the player population played CTF mode. Well regardless it looks like the feature is back, and Respawn has implemented a new system that will no longer cause players to be stuck in a loop when trying to find a game.

“[W]e’re introducing a test of even wider region searches. If you’re searching for 5 minutes without starting a game, [the matchmaker] will eventually widen your search to include neighboring continents. This means you might end up in a game with a much higher ping than you’re used to, but as players pointed out; playing is preferred to not playing at all!”

Unfortunately this only applies to CTF mode. Respawn has not mentioned if they will be bringing back Pilot Hunter mode for the PC, but in the meantime if you were hoping to get some CTF games going on, hopefully the changes Respawn made will result in a better experience.

Filming On Warcraft Movie Has Been Completed

Filming On Warcraft Movie Has Been CompletedFor a long time, it seemed that the World of Warcraft movie might never come to fruition, especially after the changing of directors. Well after Duncan Jones took over the project, things finally started to happen and according to a recent tweet by the director, it seems that the World of Warcraft movie has been completed!

According to Jones, filming has officially come to an end, a good five months or so after it began in January this year. “Final day on Warcraft now officially… wrapped!!  Off to bed for 3 hours before a meeting in the AM.  Goodnight/good morning twitter!” Of course for those following the news, you guys probably know that it’s still going to be a while until we see the finished product.

The movie has been scheduled for a release on the 11th of March 2016 and it has been estimated that the movie will take about 20 months or so for post-production work, so hopefully we can look forward to an amazing film, and not another failed video game-cum-movie effort. While the exact plot of the movie remains unknown, it has been suggested that it will most likely be an early Warcraft story.

This means that we can expect it to be more about Orcs and Humans, as opposed to some of the newer content that we’ve seen. The trailer for the movie is also expected to debut at Comic-Con 2014, which is scheduled for the 24th-27th of July. It is most likely a teaser trailer that we can expect, as opposed to a full blown one, but safe to say many are looking forward to it anyway.

Jacob and Katie Schwartz captured parts of northern India in this video and it’s a joy to watch.

LG G3 For Verizon Press Render Leaked

LG G3 For Verizon Press Render LeakedCome 27th of May, LG is expected to announce their next flagship smartphone, the LG G3. LG has not really been coy about the handset, and it was recently that they uploaded a teaser video to tease us about its impending announcement. However in the meantime, @evleaks has managed to get a leaked render of the upcoming handset.

As you can see in the image above, the LG G3 is expected to make its way onto Verizon’s network, at least based on what we can see from the carrier logos plastered across the handset. As it stands we’re not sure which carriers the LG G3 will be making its way on, but we can only assume that it should at least make its way onto all the four major carriers – AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint.

As a quick recap for those who might have missed the news, the LG G3 is said to pack a 5.5-inch display with a QHD display, giving phones like the HTC One M8 and the Samsung Galaxy S5 a run for its money (at least until the Galaxy S5 Prime). It also appears to sport some kind of brushed metallic look, lending a more premium feel to the device, especially for those who might not appreciate plastic as much.

Availability has not yet been mentioned either, but presumably LG will have more details to share with everyone else come 27th May, so do check back with us then for the details. In the meantime, who else is excited for the LG G3?
