Win A Limited Edition Pokémon-Themed 3DS XL By Attending A Japanese Football Match

Win A Limited Edition Pokémon Themed 3DS XL By Attending A Japanese Football MatchNintendo of Japan has certainly pioneered the art of selling the very same hardware over and over again to the same customer just because it comes in a special limited edition design from time to time. And by design, I do not mean a change in the hardware mould, but rather, new livery or color has been introduced. Well, we have seen our fair share of different Nintendo 3DS XL versions in the past, and here we are now with the chance to pick up a limited edition Pokémon-themed 3DS XL, where you can do so simply by attending a football match in Japan.

Do bear in mind that football here refers to soccer as understood by those of us living in the US. Nintendo is the one behind this opportunity for fans to pick up one of three limited edition Pokémon-themed 3DS XL systems at Yokohama F. Marinos, Urawa Red Diamonds, and FC Tokyo J-League matches, and depending on the number of systems made available, that will strictly be based on the home side’s score.

Football is not a high scoring game, but it is nevertheless exciting as evident by those last minute exploits, or even brilliant individual runs. Each of the 3DS XL system will feature identical Pokémon artwork with the respective club name of the home side on the base. Of course these will be extremely rare in due time, and ought to be able to fetch a handsome price in online auction sites.

Limited Edition Yoshi Nintendo 3DS XL Unveiled

Limited Edition Yoshi Nintendo 3DS XL UnveiledIn the past we have seen Nintendo release differently themed consoles for various games, like Pokemon-themed Nintendo 3DS handheld consoles, and Zelda-themed Wii U consoles. Well the good news is that if you were on the lookout for more limited edition Nintendo 3DS consoles, you’re in luck as the company has recently announced a limited edition Yoshi 3DS XL handheld console as you can see in the image above. The design of the console is pretty cute and features an image of Yoshi on the cover, and several Yoshi eggs at the back of the console as well.

Now according to Nintendo, this year of the Nintendo 3DS XL console will see a release in Europe on the 14th of March. Unfortunately there was no mention when Nintendo will release this limited edition console in the US, if at all, and whether or not the design will be kept the same. There is also no mention on pricing but presumably it will cost the same, if not slightly more, as the normal Nintendo 3DS XL console, but we will keep our eyes peeled nonetheless. In the meantime who else is excited and wouldn’t mind getting their hands on the Yoshi-themed 3DS XL console?

Refurbished Nintendo 3DS XL, 3DS SD Cards Now Available

Refurbished Nintendo 3DS XL, 3DS SD Cards Now Available

Nintendo started to offer refurbished versions of some of its popular handhelds, the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DSi XL, just a few months ago allowing budget-minded gamers the ability to save a few bucks while they get to enjoy their hobby of choice. It looks like their refurbished program has gone well enough that the company is now starting to offer refurbished 3DS XL and 3DS memory cards for sale.

Nintendo of America is making its refurbished 3DS XLs available for $170 each, which is a $29 discount when compared to a new handheld. Refurbished 3DS memory cards can be purchased for $13, which is a pretty good price considering there isn’t much that can go wrong with an SD card.

If you’re concerned Nintendo’s refurbished goods will crap out on you within days of your purchase, you should know Authentic Nintendo Refurbished products come with a one-year warranty as the company sets their refurbished devices to meet some very high standards. The only thing you would need to worry about is the device’s physical appearance, as Nintendo’s refurbished products may or may not have a few scratches or other cosmetic blemishes. Keep in mind your refurbished 3DS XL may have been owned by a child, so keep that in mind as they tend to not care so much as to what their toys look like after they’re used.

Black Nintendo 3DS XL Arriving Next Month

Black Nintendo 3DS XL Arriving Next MonthAccording to NPD figures, the Nintendo 3DS is the top selling console in the US for the month of June, but for those who want a slight change in scenery, you might want to check out the Nintendo 3DS XL (which has done pretty well for itself when it was first released last year) that also has its fair share of customized accessories, having arrived in bundles in the past, but here we are with word that the black version of the Nintendo 3DS XL will be arriving sometime in August 2013.

Granted, we are already at the tail end of July, so it should not be too long until this dark color of your choice arrives. I personally prefer my devices to come in black – not only does it masks the smudges and dirt a whole lot better than a white device, you won’t find black plastic turning yellow after some time, too. The black version of the Nintendo 3DS XL will hit store shelves this August 11th to keep company the blue, red, and pink models. On the same day, do expect to have some fun as the Mario & Luigi: Dream Team action RPG is released, too.

Nintendo 3DS XL black model arriving next month alongside Mario & Luigi: Dream Team

It seems as if this moment couldn’t come any sooner, as Nintendo is finally releasing a black version of their 3DS XL handheld gaming system. Nintendo has previously released colored models with black trim and such, but this will be the first all-black version to hit retail, and it’s coming on the same day as the release of Mario & Luigi: Dream Team on August 11.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about an all-black version, though. It popped up in a couple of leaked ads last week, hinting to the possibility that we would see it arrive sometime soon. And without surprise, here it is to grace the hands of Nintendo 3DS fans with a new color to choose from.

As for Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, the game will see Mario going into Luigi’s dreams in an effort to rescue Princess Peach, who has been kidnapped (obviously). While Nintendo keeps beating a dead horse with its Princess Peach kidnapping storyline, they sure do find different ways for Mario to rescue her.

If black isn’t quite your color, the 3DS XL comes in several other colors as well, including red, blue, and pink, as well as special editions featuring Pokemon’s Pikachu and designs for Animal Crossing: New Leaf. No word on if the black version will have a different price point, but it’ll most likely be priced at the same $200 as other color choices.
