New Tony Hawk Game Confirmed

New Tony Hawk Game ConfirmedIt has been a couple of years since we last heard about a Tony Hawk video game, which begs the question, are skateboarding games still considered to be “in”? Well as long as the skateboarding sport is still around, we guess skateboarding video games will continue to be popular. The last Tony Hawk title that was released was Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD which was released in 2012 and the good news for Tony Hawk fans is that it looks like there could be a new Tony Hawk skateboarding game in the works.

This is according to Tony Hawk himself who was quoted on his Demolition Radio show on SiriusXM as saying, “We’re working on a game, we are working on a game, it’s pretty cool,” while reminiscing about the Pro Skater series. No word on how the developer of the new game will be, but given that Robomondo was the last developer, perhaps it could still be them. Activision has also since confirmed their involvement with the game with a statement released to IGN, stating that, “Activision can confirm that they have something in the works with Tony Hawk, more info is coming soon.” It is unclear when or for which platforms the game will launch on, but for skateboarding fans out there, this is definitely something to keep an eye on.

Sledgehammer’s Call Of Duty’s Visuals To Be Huge Improvement Over Ghosts

Sledgehammers Call Of Dutys Visuals To Be Huge Improvement Over GhostsAs you might have heard, Activision has decided to move their Call of Duty franchise to a three-year dev cycle. What this means is that gamers looking to get their hands on a new Call of Duty title will have to wait a while in between games. While this means gamers have to wait, the upside is that the longer dev cycles mean that more time can be spent developing the game, making sure it is fun and ironing out all the kinks, or at least as much as possible. Now the good news for gamers is that Sledgehammer Games will be the next developer to make the Call of Duty title and according to industry insider, Pete Dodd, it is expected to be a big jump in visuals compared to Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Posting in the NeoGAF forums, Dodd was quoted as saying, “Internally people are excited for it. It is supposedly a pretty big jump over ghosts graphically.” The next title is expected to make its way onto next-gen consoles like the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, so we guess a huge improvement and changes in graphics is to be expected, although we have to wonder how much better can a game look. In the meantime are you guys excited for the next Call of Duty title?

Call Of Duty Franchise To Get 3 Year Dev Cycle

Call Of Duty Franchise To Get 3 Year Dev CycleDo you think that games released on an annual basis will end up diluting the franchise? Perhaps, but at the same time no one really likes waiting around on games to be released either. Well the good/bad news for Call of Duty fans is that it has been announced that future Call of Duty titles will be released on a 3 year basis. This means that the titles will be getting more development time which hopefully means a better and less buggy game (perhaps Activision is taking a cue from the recent bout of trouble EA is facing over Battlefield 4). This also means that gamers will have to wait a tad longer than usual, but what would you rather have? A quick release riddled with bugs? Or one that has been well thought out?

Speaking during Activision’s conference call today, the company’s CEO, Eric Hirshberg said, “This will give our designers more time to envision and innovate for each title. Simultaneously, it will give our content creators more focus on DLC and micro-DLC which, as you know, have become large and high-margin opportunities and significant engagement drivers. Finally, we’ll give our teams more time to polish, helping ensure we deliver the best possible experience to our fans each and every time.” It has also been revealed that Sledgehammer Games will be joining the likes of Infinity Ward and Treyarch who will take turns released Call of Duty titles.
