Back in 2012, Activision released an application for its Call of Duty: Elite service that allowed Call of Duty players around the world keep track of their custom classes, challenges as well as view recent matches among other things. Today, a new Call of Duty application is being released that’s simply called the Call of Duty app.

Call of Duty: Ghosts may have achieved $1 billion in sales in its first day, but the game isn’t completely bug free as the PlayStation 4 version of the title reportedly suffers from frame rate issues. It looks like the PlayStation 4 version of Call of Duty: Ghosts isn’t the only area Infinity Ward apparently cut corners as YouTube user satantribal has found the developer has reused motion capture data from the ending of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and stuck it somewhere in Call of Duty: Ghosts. Call of Duty: Ghosts was released this week, with its sales already reaching record-breaking proportions as Activision announced the title raked in $1 billion just in its first day of sales. Call of Duty: Ghosts’ sales are expected to jump even more so when the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are released in the next couple of weeks, but reviews of the title running on Sony’s next-generation platform claim there are problems with its graphics. Seeing as we’re at the cusp of the next generation of gaming with the release of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One imminent, it isn’t uncommon for games these days to require a mandatory install of content from the game disc onto a console’s hard drive. We’ve seen Grand Theft Auto V and Battlefield 4 require players to install content on their hard drives, and it looks like Call of Duty: Ghosts will do the same when it’s released next month. (more…)

We spotted some images online that leaked Call of Duty: Ghosts’ Extinction mode yesterday, but shortly after that leak, Activision and Infinity Ward decided to let the flood gates open and let the world know exactly what is going on in this new game mode. The release of Call of Duty: Ghosts is coming ever so closely as we’re nearly one week away from the game’s big release on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, although next-generation versions of the Ghosts are expected to also be released later this year. As such, we’re still learning more information regarding the game and its modes. Bungie and Activision recently announced a beta is planned for Destiny in early 2014, although at this time, only Amazon seems to have been chosen to be the major retailer in the U.S. to be able to give out beta keys to those who pre-order the title. In addition to the announcement of Destiny’s beta, Bungie and Activision have released a brand-new trailer for the title that takes us to the moon, but the trip isn’t one that includes taking pictures of historic sights or even buying a moon souvenir.
