It seems that Amazon Fire TV’s Voice Search will be on the receiving end of an expansion when it comes to their partners’ roll, where from this summer onward, the likes of Hulu Plus, Crackle, and SHOWTIME ANYTIME will be part of a unified voice search effort. These would join up with VEVO when it comes to integrating their full catalogs into Fire TV’s unified voice search.

Hmmm, it seems that Amazon Germany is suffering from another hiccup yet again. German labor union Verdi did ask workers who earn a living over at online retailer Amazon in Germany (where else) to go on strike today, with the raison d’être being a dispute in pay, which has gone on for quite some time apparently. This is not the first time that Amazon Germany’s workers went on strike, as it happened last year before Christmas.

The Amazon Kindle app is available to download on both iOS and Android devices and it basically gives users access to Amazon’s library of ebooks. Of course the experience might be different compared to reading it on a Kindle device which uses an e-ink display, but for those who’d rather not have to carry around two separate devices, the Kindle app will do in a pinch.
However it seems that Samsung will now be getting their very own custom-built Kinde book store, thanks to a deal that Samsung and Amazon have struck up with one another. As it stands it seems that this offer is limited to the Samsung Galaxy S5 but additional Samsung Galaxy devices will soon be added to the list.
What the deal does is that it offers Galaxy owners who have been referred to the service 12 free books every year. They will get four prominent titles to choose from every month, which apparently have been chosen for Galaxy owners in mind. We’re not sure what kind of books Galaxy owners like to read since that’s pretty presumptuous, but hopefully the titles will be mainstream ones at least, so as to appeal to a wider range of readers.
Samsung seems to be on a roll regarding these exclusive services. About a week ago, it was announced that Samsung and Deezer partnered up to offer Galaxy S5 users an exclusive streaming deal. They have also announced Samsung Milk Music which is a little odd given their deal with Deezer, but it’s still an alternative nonetheless. It seems that Samsung is truly doing everything they can to get users to hop on board its products.
In any case for those interested in the Kindle deal Amazon and Samsung have agreed upon, it seems that the deal and customized book store is expected to launch in the next two weeks. Hopefully additional details will be revealed before then.

Today Amazon announced in an email sent to its customers that they will be able to access all personal documents archived in their Kindle e-reader library through Amazon Cloud Drive. A new folder called “My Send-To-Kindle Docs” will be created in which these documents will be placed. From here users will be able to manage those documents just like they would manage any other file, meaning that they can organize, share or delete them should the need arise. Users will also be able to turn off auto saving of documents to the cloud.

Its not unusual to see mobile devices receive price cuts, but that normally happens when the product has been out for too long or if its simply not selling. Price cuts are a great way to get rid of inventory. One might not expect such a big cut on a hotly anticipated device that was released less than a week ago. A Verizon Galaxy S5 sale has kicked off on Amazon. Customers who waited to purchase the latest Samsung smartphone can now get it for $100 off the usual price.
As of now the Verizon variant of Samsung Galaxy S5 is being sold for $99 on Amazon. Customers will have to sign up for a new service contract with this purchase. On all other carriers the smartphone is being sold for $199 upfront along with a new contract. Even Verizon’s own website is selling it for $199.
It is unclear how long this sale is going to last. Those who have been holding out on buying a new Galaxy S5 can now grab one for a full $100 cheaper, it doesn’t get any better than this. It is possible that stock might run out soon so if you’re interested in purchasing, better hop on over to Amazon right away.

Amazon Smartphone Spotted
Posted in: Today's ChiliBGR has apparently gotten hold of the recently talked about Amazon smartphone, which is no mean feat actually. The Amazon smartphone has been a development in progress for a number of years already, so it is really interesting to see it finally come to fruition – making this the first of several own-brand smartphones. From afar, this flagship smartphone looks like a generic touchscreen handset template, but there will be two major focuses on this device – Amazon products and services, as well as a custom 3D interface.
Do bear in mind that what you see above happens to be a prototype device, where it comes in a protective shell that is meant to prevent people without the proper authorization from checking out the physical design of the handset. Other areas of the photos, too, have been blocked out or obscured for security purposes.
The first Amazon smartphone will allegedly run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, where it will be accompanied by the likes of 2GB RAM, powered by a customized version of Google’s Android operating system. This means if you have given Amazon’s tablets a go before, it will be somewhat similar in nature, too. With 720p HD resolution for the alleged 4.7″ display, this would not be able to compete with the high end devices from other manufacturers. Other than that, the main camera at the back is said to feature a 13MP shooter, while there is also a front-facing camera of unknown resolution count. So far, there has been no name attached to this prototype – anyone wants to warrant a guess?
