Amazon lets you upgrade select Xbox 360 games to Xbox One versions for $10

DNP Amazon promo lets you trade in select Xbox 360 games for Xbox One counterparts for $10

A week or so ago, Gamestop introduced a promotional campaign that would allow PowerUp members to upgrade certain Xbox 360 titles to their Xbox One equivalents for only $9.99. Well, Amazon must’ve thought that was a pretty good idea, because it just unveiled a trade-in offer of its own. The promotion only applies to certain titles such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, FIFA 14, Battlefield 4, NBA 2K14, Watch Dogs, Madden NFL 25 and Need for Speed Rivals. Simply ship the Xbox 360 version of the game to Amazon to be approved, and you’ll get a $25 bonus credit on top of the title’s trade-in value of at least $25.

Bear in mind that the promotion can only be used once. If multiple games are selected, the discount is for the cheapest item only — the credit will be applied automatically upon checkout. Of course, if you simply waited until November to get the next-gen console along with the next-gen game, you’ll save $10. But we know some people just can’t resist the latest and greatest of multiplayer first-person shooters. If you’re keen on taking advantage of the offer, you had better do it before December 31st however, as that’s when it expires.

Amazon is down, it’s not just you [UPDATE: Resolved]

This afternoon the team at Amazon’s homepage have reported a temporary outage in service as they “make some improvements” to their service. Is Amazon Art a Ripoff?

Is Amazon Art a Ripoff?

It’s been more than a week since Amazon launched Amazon Art, a marketplace for fine art where online shoppers can one-click-buy directly from galleries. And while it’s great to imagine disrupting one of the wackiest, most unregulated markets in the world, the question remains: Just how good of a deal are you getting on that $1.4 million Warhol painting?

Amazon Tablet With Adreno 330 GPU And 2560×1600 Resolution Spotted In Benchmark

Amazon Tablet With Adreno 330 GPU And 2560x1600 Resolution Spotted In BenchmarkWith Amazon enjoying success with their lineup of Kindle Fire Android tablets, it is not surprising that word on the street has it that Amazon is looking to launch a Kindle Fire successor, the third-generation to be specific after the Kindle Fire HD. With the Kindle Fire HD receiving a price cut, it was speculated that a successor could be on its way and thanks to a benchmark sighting, it looks like Kindle Fire fans could be getting their wish. According to the GFXBench scores, a certain Amazon KFAPWA device was sighted with an Adreno 330 GPU which would suggest a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC.

The benchmark also reveals a 2560×1600 display resolution  which is definitely a step up from its predecessor, which we guess is kind of to be expected. The benchmarks also corroborate an earlier rumor we heard in July that suggested the 8.9” Kindle Fire HD would come with those features, along with an 8MP rear-facing camera, and 16/32/64GB storage options. Of course it is entirely possible that benchmark scores can be faked, so don’t get your hopes up just yet, but hopefully it won’t be too long before Amazon makes their announcement. So, who’s excited for the new Kindle Fire HD tablet?

Benchmarks hint at Snapdragon-based Kindle Fire HD with 2,560 x 1,600 display

Benchmarks hint at Snapdragon-based Kindle Fire HD with 2,560 x 1,600 display

While benchmark leaks can be wobbly info-stones to tread upon, the arrival of some purported Kindle Fire HD scores could be the first steps toward a timely refresh. The results in question refer to a “Amazon KFAPWA” device with a reported Adreno 330 GPU, which by implication would likely mean a Snapdragon 800 SoC. The field that really leaps out, however, is that 2,560 x 1,600 resolution. If true, it could mean the 8.9-inch version is getting a bump from the previous iteration’s 1,920 x 1,200 display. This certainly chimes with earlier reports, and, if nothing else, would certainly make that new browser UI all the more pretty to look at.
