Since last year we have been hearing rumors that Samsung is going to make AMOLED tablets once again. Samsung Hungary Hints At AMOLED Display Touting Galaxy TabPRO

Over the past couple of months there have been a lot of rumors about Samsung working on its second AMOLED display touting tablet. It is believed that the tablet might be launched in the near future, but so far the company hasn’t said anything about it. Just last week some specifications of the tablet were rumored. Now it appears that Samsung Hungary has dropped a solid hint about the existence of this tablet. In a response to a query about the Galaxy TabPro 8.4 LTE, the company’s arm inadvertently let it slip on its Facebook page that a Galaxy TabPro with AMOLED display is coming in a few months.

Samsung Reportedly Launching 10.5 Inch AMOLED Tablet Next Month

Samsung Reportedly Launching 10.5 Inch AMOLED Tablet Next Month

Samsung hasn’t released an AMOLED display touting tablet for quite some time now. Actually the last tablet to come with a AMOLED display from Samsung was the Galaxy Tab 7.7 which was released back in 2011. A few weeks ago it was rumored that next year Samsung is going to release a number of tablets with AMOLED display, and if latest reports coming in from Korea are to be believed, one such tablet might be launched as early as January, 2014. As per the report, the company might launch a 10.5 inch AMOLED tablet next month.

After the 10.5 inch tablet is out, the report claims that Samsung might also launch 8 inch and 13 inch AMOLED tablets. Recent speculation suggests that Samsung might focus more on tablets in 2014, and another recent rumor claimed that as many as four new tablets might be launched in Q1 alone by the Korean company. Samsung itself hasn’t confirmed its plans for next year as yet, so it can’t be said for sure if such a device is indeed coming in January. However, the Consumer Electronics Show 2014 takes place next month in Las Vegas, it is after all the biggest show of its kind so it probably won’t surprise anyone if Samsung does end up launching a new tablet at the show.

Samsung’s Galaxy Round is gimmicky not geekery

I love odd gadgets and weird technology. I like manufacturers that think at right-angles when it comes to designs and functionality. Yet Samsung’s newly announced Galaxy Round, the Android smartphone with a curved AMOLED display like a techie taco, for all its new screen technology, leaves me cold. “Samsung’s Galaxy Round is the epitome of […]

    Moto X review

    Moto X review

One year ago, Motorola, fat and fed by its Google acquisition, inched quietly into a silicon-spun cocoon to gestate. The subsequent passage of time allowed it to transmogrify and re-emerge a thing of red, yellow, blue and sometimes green beauty; a Google thing made by a Google company. The Moto X, its newborn monarch, arrives in an array of different colors, made possible by the NikeID-like Moto Maker site. It also comes with a homespun narrative: it’s assembled here in the USA. Time to empty your wallets, patriots. This is America’s smartphone and it costs $199 on a two-year contract.

If I’m right in reading between the lines of Google’s marketing speak, the Moto X was made in the image of the everyman. It’s the product of a democratic process — you can take that future design poll on Facebook as proof of this point. The 4.7-inch screen size, the curvature of its back, the composite materials, its weight and front-face look were focus-tested for maximum inoffensiveness. The Moto X exudes no tech halo like the Galaxy S 4 or the HTC One because it is the sum of averages. Here’s how I see it: You know those people who own iPhones, but don’t know which model number they own and also refer to all Android phones as Droids? This phone is for them.
