It was bound to happen eventually – the world of smart watches gaining traction among the “big boys”, so to speak. Here we are with word that the LG G Watch that is powered by Android Wear is currently being developed in a close working relationship with Google by LG. The LG G Watch will play nice with a slew of Android-powered smartphones when available, where its main purpose, apart from telling the time, would be to present relevant information to users as and when required, or whenever they just say the magic words “OK Google” to obtain answers to questions, or to get some errands done.

It appears to be a banner day for smartwatch news. Engadget is reporting that LG is also cooking up a smartwatch of its own. It’s coming out next quarter and will run on Google’s just-announced wearables OS, dubbed Android Wear
