Well, fast forward to nearly a year down the road, and we have Microsoft working to expand their Age of Empires real time strategy game franchise to the iOS, Android and Windows Phone platforms, where it will be known as Age of Empires: World Domination.

Google Expands Security Services For Android

Google Expands Security Services For AndroidIf you happen to be in possession of an Android-powered device that is capable of accessing the Google Play Store by default, then here is some good news for you in terms of security, where it ought to be able to give you a greater peace of mind, too. It does seem as though Google’s Android mobile operating system is about to be even more resistant to malware, and the best part of it all is, you do not have much to do in the first place. In the past, whenever you were about to install an app that hailed from questionable sources, a red flag will come into play, but this time around Google has improved things by a whole lot to have Android check up on your apps after installation.

The reason behind this is simple – it is entirely plausible (and human) for anyone to download apps of questionable quality and content prior to Google’s verification feature going live in 2012. This translates to a wayward app sneaking its way through, and as Google continues in their quest to learn more concerning mobile malware, they would be able to start cleaning up the mess of yesteryears automatically. Android Security Engineer Rich Cannings did admit that majority of Android users will not receive such a notification that they have a wayward app on-board, but at least we have a greater peace of mind now, considering how devices that still have Android 2.3 running on them will be able to gain that security feature.

LG G Pad 8.3 Receives Android 4.4 KitKat Update In US And Europe

LG G Pad 8.3 Receives Android 4.4 KitKat Update In US And EuropeIt was sometime in late March that the LG G Pad 8.3 began to be on the receiving end of the Android 4.4 KitKat update, although that particular roll out happened to remain within the confines of South Korea only. Fast forward to today, and here we are with word that LG G Pad 8.3 owners who happen to live in the US as well as in Europe will be able to grab this update via an Over The Air (OTA) update, which would mean dancing to the Settings > About and ‘Check for updates’ tune all over again, if it has not received the update already, that is.

For folks over in the US, it does seem that one will need to rely on LG’s desktop software in order to pick up this particular update. Doing so is not too difficult at all – all that you need to do is to locate LG’s support website, download the company’s desktop PC software, before you make use of that to perform the Android 4.4 KitKat download before transferring it over to your tablet. Sure, it is a whole lot less convenient, but at least you will have your LG G Pad 8.3’s update future fall directly into you hands.
