Oppo N1 Global Launch Is Apparently Next Month

Oppo N1 Global Launch Is Apparently Next Month

Oppo, a Chinese manufacturer, announced the N1 only recently. On paper, it has enough specifications to rival devices from major global manufacturers. It appears that Oppo is aiming high with the N1 and that it might be looking to roll out the device globally. A presentation by the CynaogenMod team hints at the ETA of N1′s global launch, it may happen as early as next month.

The Oppo N1 launches in China towards the end of this week. It is actually the first smartphone that comes with the ability to install a custom CyanogenMod ROM without losing full warranty and community support. A version of the N1 with a CyanogenMod pre-installed is also expected to be released in the future. As per the CM team that was giving the talk, N1 global launch may take place by the end of November. It is unclear right now exactly how many markets will the N1 be launched in and how much will it end up costing prospective customers. It is also not known if the manufacturer has struck up a deal with a carrier to sell the N1 at subsidized rates in the U.S. If it has no carrier partnerships, it is likely that Oppo will only sell unlocked versions through its website.

Ouya Rolling Out Nationwide Through Target With Demo Kiosks

Ouya Rolling Out Nationwide Through Target With Demo Kiosks

If you’re shopping for a gamer this holiday season, we’re sure they’re expecting an Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or a Wii U to be given to them for whatever holiday they recognize, but one console we’re sure isn’t on many wish lists this holiday season is the Android-powered Ouya. Ouya wants to make themselves known a little bit better this holiday season, which is why they will be rolling out demo kiosks across Targer retailers nationwide this month.

The Ouya was previously available at a number of GameStop, Target , Best Buy and GAME, but this is the first time the company is going full chain by allowing Target to carry its console at all of its 1,800 stores. Now that Ouya is going to be available on a nationwide level, the company is redesigning the box art of its console a bit in order to “highlight and promote more games and new content.”

Starting next month, Target will begin promoting the Ouya through a number of in-store video trailers within its electronics department as well as running in-store promotions that would give customers a $10 game card with their purchase of the system. In December, Target will further promote Ouya by putting in customized Ouya shelf displays as well as advertise it within its circular.
