Google SVP and Android head Sundar Pichai has made some interesting comments at the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona. He did go on record to clarify that contrary to popular belief Google did not bid $10 billion for WhatsApp, in fact it wasn’t interested in acquiring it at all. He also addressed Nexus 6 rumors, though with a ten foot pole, assuring that “it will not be released in the first half of the year.”

There is word going around that the new Sony Xperia Z1 Compact that hit the market earlier this year in January, with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean in tow, ought to be on the receiving end of an update to Android 4.4.2 KitKat – kicking it off in April, of course. Apart from the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, it seems that the Xperia Z1 as well as the Xperia Z Ultra too, will be on the receiving end of some Android 4.4 KitKat goodness in the same month itself. Do bear in mind that this is but a rumor, so do take all that you have read with a grain of salt here.
