Knock-Off iPhone Charger Explodes, Victim Ends Up With Electrical Burns

Knock Off iPhone Charger Explodes, Victim Ends Up With Electrical BurnsExploding iPhones as well as phone chargers are nothing new, and there has been alleged reports of people getting killed by it along the way. We always maintain that one should make use of authorized and original parts only, chargers included, even though you might save a fair bit of money by purchasing third party or knock-off chargers, as this particular Minnesota resident found out. Tim Tyrrell was shopping for a second charger for his iPhone, and settled on a $10 eBay offer that came with a couple of wall chargers and a car charger, instead of forking out $25 to $30 for an original from Apple. This knock-off plug exploded, resulting in Tyrrell experiencing a serious electrical burn that was the size of a quarter on his hand.

This is in conjunction with the UN’s International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action. Basically through the use of iBeacons, it will allow the exhibit to simulate the dangers of a virtual minefield and give museum goers a chance to experience what it might be like to live in parts of the world where mines can be found. Apple Raises iTunes App Store Prices For Some Regions

Apple Raises iTunes App Store Prices For Some RegionsFor our friends and readers from other parts of the world, here’s some bad news for you guys. According to an iTunes Connect letter that Apple has been sending out to developers, it seems that Apple will be raising the prices in its iTunes App Store in order to account for the changes in foreign exchange rates.

As it stands only five regions are affected by these changes which includes Australia, India, Indonesia, Turkey, and South Africa. Apple will also be raising the retail prices for Israel while decreasing some price tiers for New Zealand. For the most part it seems that purchasing from these countries’ App Stores will now be more expensive although we’re not sure by exactly how much. (more…)

iPhone 6 Concept Based On Alleged Leaked Schematics

iPhone 6 Concept Based On Alleged Leaked SchematicsRemember the other day we saw alleged schematics of the iPhone 6? Well we’re sure many are wondering how an iPhone might look like if those schematics are the real deal, so French website Nowhereelse.fr and designer Martin Hajek have thrown together a couple of concept renderings to give us a taste of what’s to come.

Apple Wants to Help you Text While You Walk

Texting while walking. Not too many of us are willing to admit it, but it most likely has happened to you. You are walking along and you get a text that you need to reply to. Do you stop, step out of everyone’s way and then reply? Most likely you continue walking, your eyes focused on the phone in your hands and not on the inevitable light pole just ahead. We all know what happens next, we have all seen the youtube videos and think that it could never happen to you.

Well, walking into harms way while texting might be more common than many people think and has actually spawned some laws in some cities. To this, Apple has just filed for a patent to start working on the technology for “transparent texting“. This technology will enable you to text and see through your phone as to what is coming ahead by basically utilizing the rear facing video camera and displaying it behind your texting interface. The rumor is that this feature will be available for iOS 8, but Apple has not officially made any announcement as of yet.
