Apple Begins Testing Related Search Suggestions In App Store

Apple Begins Testing Related Search Suggestions In App StoreIf you’re trying to search for apps on the iTunes App Store, it seems that Apple has recently begun testing a search suggestions feature on the app store. As you can see in the screenshot above, the related search feature is place below the search bar itself, so for example if you were to search for “calendar”, which is a pretty generic term, suggestions might include calendar planners, daily planners, and so on.

Another example would be search for a news reader, in which the relevant research suggestions will spit back terms like feed reader and business news, just to name a few. For example some people get their news from apps like Feedly which is a feed reader, while others might prefer more direct sources like a specific app like Bloomberg or CNN. (more…)

Alleged iPhone 6 Dummy Model Reveals Possible Dimensions

Alleged iPhone 6 Dummy Model Reveals Possible DimensionsNo one really knows what the iPhone 6 will look like. In fact no one knows how big the phone will be, despite the rumors that the iPhone 6 could come in two sizes: 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch (earlier rumors suggested 5.7-inch).

However recently a Japanese case manufacturer has uploaded photos of a dummy device that is allegedly based on the iPhone 6, although we have no way of verifying if any of this is true. At the same time it does make for a pretty interesting point of discussion, so why not, right? (more…)

iOS 7 Adoption Rate Now Sits At 85%

iOS 7 Adoption Rate Now Sits At 85%If there is one advantage that iOS has over Android is that when an update is released, iOS users around the world will be able to update their phone/tablets at the same time, as opposed to having to wait for the OEM to push out the update, and in some instances users might have to wait for carrier approval as well.

Of course this is a different story if you own a Google Nexus device, but the rest of it rings true for the most part. That being said it is understandable why iOS adoption rates tend to be higher when it comes to newer versions and according to the latest numbers, it has been found that 85% of iOS devices checking into the iTunes App Store run on iOS 7. Apple Could Ship Two iPhones Of Different Sizes, But Not At The Same Time [Analyst]

Apple Could Ship Two iPhones Of Different Sizes, But Not At The Same Time [Analyst]Without a doubt Apple will be releasing a new iPhone later this year. The name of the new iPhone, its specs, and its design is pretty much up in the air at the moment, although there are rumors floating about that suggests that the phone could come in two sizes: a 4.7-inch iPhone and a 5.5-inch iPhone.

We guess this move would allow Apple to allow its customers to decide if they want a bigger phone or a smaller phone, although we’re not sure if customers might end up neglecting the 4.7-inch model in favor of the larger one, putting Apple into another iPhone 5c situation again. However according to Steve Milunovich, an analyst for UBS, he thinks that Apple will launch phones with different sizes, but just not at the same time. (more…)

Apple’s Interest In Healthcare Grows With Hiring Of Privacy Counsel

Apples Interest In Healthcare Grows With Hiring Of Privacy CounselWill the iWatch have an emphasized focus on health? Will iOS 8 and the future iPhone 6 also contain more health-related features? Well that’s pretty much anyone’s guess at the moment, although alleged leaked iOS 8 screenshots certainly seems to point us towards that conclusion.

However if Apple’s recent hire is anything to go by, it definitely looks like Apple has something health-related plan. According to recent observations, Apple has hired a new privacy counsel by the name of Sabrina Ross, who apparently has started working at Apple since March. (more…)
