Apple Handles 40 Billion iMessages, 15-20 Million FaceTime Calls Daily

Apple Handles 40 Billion iMessages, 15 20 Million FaceTime Calls DailyiMessage was introduced in 2011 alongside iOS 5. It was believed to be Apple’s answer to platform-exclusive messaging platforms like BlackBerry’s BBM and Samsung’s ChatON at that time. Prior to that, the Messages app was mainly used for sending/receiving regular text messages and MMS.

However it seems that thanks to more iPhones being adopted on an annual basis, along with more iPads being sold, it looks like Apple’s iMessages is quite a hit amongst iOS users. According to a recent Q&A session that Apple’s CEO Tim Cook had with investors, it was revealed that the number of iMessages sent a day currently numbers at 40 billion. (more…)

Apple Reportedly Working On Software Fix For Touch ID Sensor

Apple Reportedly Working On Software Fix For Touch ID SensorWhen Apple launched the iPhone 5s, it came with a unique feature called Touch ID. It was basically a way for users to unlock their smartphones and make iTunes purchases using their fingerprint. Based on our review of the phone and other reviews on the internet, the general consensus was that Touch ID was refreshingly responsive.

However in a recent report, it was suggested that Touch ID would “degrade” over time, due to the fact that the initial fingerprint data could eventually become polluted due to additional scans made over time. Well according to AppleInsider, they claim that a fix for this issue is being worked on as we speak. (more…)

Apple Maps Send iPhone Owners To Grandma’s House

Apple Maps has not exactly been the most accurate way to get around somewhere which you are not familiar with, as a grandmother in rural Pennsylvania can attest to. In fact, for the past one and a half years, Apple Maps has been sending skiers who rely on their iPhone to get around to her home, rather than the ski lodge which they intended to visit. Basically, Apple Maps would direct skiers who are on the lookout for Roundtop Mountain to go through Beaver Creek Road, but there is one major issue with such a directive – this route happens to be a dead end, as you can see for yourself in the embedded video above.
