ASUS PadFone Infinity Teaser Video Released

Earlier we had reported that ASUS was set to announce the company’s upcoming PadFone Infinity which will be making its debut next week during an event held in Taipei, Taiwan. At that time ASUS had only sent out an invite, but has since released a rather cheeky video which shows the smartphone portion of the combo “launching” from the tablet. The video is under 10 seconds long but surprisingly pretty entertaining.

For those unfamiliar with the PadFone Infinity, the device was announced earlier this year at MWC 2013, but unfortunately the device was not made available for purchase in the US. This led to speculation that ASUS was looking to beef up the device to prime it for a release for the US market, and benchmark sightings have suggested that a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset could be making its way into the device. A rumor further down the line even saw the handset portion of the combo pictured along with a possible launch date in September, and we guess that is really going to happen.

In any case if you have a few seconds to spare you should check out the video above, and check back with us next week for the details.

ASUS PadFone Infinity Ready To Rock And Roll

ASUS PadFone Infinity Ready To Rock And RollIt does seem that ASUS has a spanking new PadFone Infinity lined up for the masses in the near future, as there has been an invitation from ASUS who will be hosting an event for the very same device in Taipei, Taiwan, from next Tuesday onwards. The ASUS PadFone Infinity does seem to shape up to be some sort of phone and tablet combination which hopefully, will be easy to wrap one’s fingers around, and if previous ASUS creations were to be taken into consideration, this might look pretty much the same as that of the existing model, except for better and faster hardware specifications located right underneath the hood.

Who knows, we might see a more beefy quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor within, in addition to a microSD memory card slot as well as a shade of all-white? Needless to say, other details such as pricing and regional availability should be released at the press event itself, and this is where one plays his or her patience cards right. As the end user, just what kind of hardware would you like to see the Taiwanese hardware manufacturer throw into the mix to make up the ASUS PadFone Infinity? More RAM and better battery life?

Surprise! ASUS to launch 'the new PadFone Infinity' next Tuesday updated video

Given the recent leaks, it’s no surprise that ASUS is now readying the launch of its aptly named “the new PadFone Infinity.” According to an invitation we just received, CEO Jerry Shen will be hosting an event for said device in Taipei next Tuesday, so we’ll be there to get our hands dirty. For now, all we know is that this phone + tablet combo will look pretty much identical to the current model, except it’ll likely get a more powerful Snapdragon 800 SoC inside, as well as a microSD slot and an all-white color option. Stay tuned for our coverage!

Update: ASUS has just added a short, cheeky video (after the break) showing the smartphone leaving the orbit of its tablet companion. A countdown page has also appeared showing the six or so days left until the new new PadFone’s “launch” on September 17th — you can find it at the source.

Under the hood there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 pro quadcore 1.5GHz processor, a five megapixel rear camera, a 1.2 megapixel front camera, 6,760mAh battery and 16GB of storage. Customers have the ability to externally expand the storage as well through microSD cards. ASUS SonicMaster audio technology is also on-board. The tablet is powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. ASUS Reportedly Trying To Emerge From Under Google’s ‘Aura’

ASUS Reportedly Trying To Emerge From Under Googles Aura

Rumor has it that Google’s future Nexus tablets might not be manufactured by ASUS. Google’s Nexus tablets have been quite successful in the market, according to Digitimes, they account for a “large proportion” of the overall tablet shipments of ASUS. The company recently unveiled two new Android powered tablets at the IFA 2013 trade show in Berlin. The publication believes that ASUS is pushing its new tablets so as to “get away from Google’s aura.”

The company is already expected to reduce Nexus 7′s shipment proportion to under 50 percent by the third quarter of this year. The proportion will reportedly be down to 20 percent by the end of the second quarter of 2014. Google hasn’t officially said as yet if it will go with another manufacturer for future Nexus tablets. The new tablets that ASUS unveiled last week are seen as a push by the company to promote its own brand. Google’s Nexus tablets have been able to perform well in the market particularly because they were competitively priced. One of the tablets that ASUS recently announced is called an “affordable” Android tablet. With the tablet market heating up as it is, we might see ASUS make an even greater push to increase its market share.

ASUS unveils budget X102BA laptop with 10-point touch and AMD inside

    ASUS X102BA

ASUS’ new Zenbook UX301 and second-gen Transformer Book a little too rich for your blood? You’ll be glad to hear that the company has announced what appears to be a more down-to-Earth ultraportable, the X102BA. As suggested in rumors, the laptop is ultimately a rival to Acer’s 11-inch Aspire V5. While the X102BA sports a smaller 10.1-inch touchscreen, it uses the same 1GHz Temash-based AMD processor and should offer both healthy battery life and quicker-than-usual integrated graphics. The base 2GB of RAM and 320GB hard drive won’t impress anyone, but ASUS is sweetening the pot by offering a free copy of Office 2013 Home & Student with every model. The company isn’t providing launch details just yet; still, we wouldn’t be surprised if the X102BA is priced well within the budgets of returning students.
