ASUS Chromebox Just launched
Posted in: Today's ChiliGoogle’s Chrome OS has typically arrived in laptops known as Chromebooks, but it looks like ASUS will be going a different route with the announcement of their Chromebox. The device will be powered by Chrome OS, but the main different is that it does not come with a monitor, keyboard, or mouse. In fact one could almost liken the Chromebox to a small form factor PC. Just like Chromebooks, the Chromebox will offer the user access to Google’s wide variety of products and services, such as YouTube, Hulu Plus, and Netflix. (more…)

ASUS PadFone E Launches In Taiwan
Posted in: Today's ChiliEarlier this month ASUS announced the PadFone X and the PadFone Mini, but as it turns out it looks like AT&T has more devices up their sleeves because over in Taiwan, ASUS has officially launched the ASUS PadFone E, which based on its specs, appears to be a device that sits in between the higher-end PadFone X and the lower-end PadFone Mini, although given its release in Taiwan we’re not sure if ASUS plans on bringing the device over to the US or to other international markets around the world. Its pricing in Taiwan is at around $560 and while it has not been confirmed, it seems that the device could begin making its international rounds in March, although hopefully we will hear an official confirmation from ASUS themselves soon or maybe during MWC 2014.
In terms of hardware, the ASUS PadFone E will pack a 4.7” 720p HD display on the phone device, while the tablet will feature a 10” 1280×800 display instead. The device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 1GB of RAM, Adreno 305 graphics, 16GB of onboard storage, 3G/HSPA+ connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, GPS, and will run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Battery for the phone is at 1,820mAh while the tablet will sport a slightly more beefy 5,000mAh battery.

When it comes to accessories for the range of Nexus devices, those happen to be a rather sensitive topic. After all, it is not all the time that every single one of them have been a success, and neither have they been abject failures, either. With so many third party options to choose from when it comes to protective cases and docks, picking the right one can be quite a difficult task. Of course, the situation was not helped either as Google did not really roll out accessories on a large scale, and the ones that they did were rather pricey in nature. Asus, the one behind the Nexus 7, has listed a couple of new docks for the Nexus 7 recently, but did not mention on how folks living in the US were able to procure one for themselves.

ASUS TF502T Spotted On Website
Posted in: Today's ChiliBack in 2012, a certain ASUS tablet with the model TF600T was spotted at the FCC. The tablet was part of ASUS’ Transformer lineup of tablets and would run on Windows RT. Well it looks like the Taiwanese company is back with an update to the tablet in the form of the TF502T, although oddly enough its model number seems to be lower than that of the TF600T, although it does share some of its specs, albeit upgraded for 2014’s customers. The tablet was spotted on ASUS’ website itself, although the company has yet to make a formal announcement which we expect will most likely be soon, either that or it will be made at MWC 2014 which is taking place later in February.
In any case official announcement or not, the specifications of the tablet have appeared of ASUS’ website leaving little to the imagination, although we guess a release date and price would be nice as well. So what can we expect from the TF502T? Well the tablet will keep the Super IPS display of 1366×768 and will feature NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The tablet will be accompanied by 2GB of RAM and sport an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, 32GB and 64Gb storage options, a microSD card slot, and the usual WiFi, Bluetooth, and NFC connectivity options. Unlike its predecessor, the TF502T will run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, although we’re hoping ASUS will update it to at least Android 4.3 upon its release.
