[CES 2014] We have seen a slew of devices announced by the folks over at ASUS earlier today, and here is yet another device which you might actually be interested in. Subscribers to AT&T will be pleased to hear that the ASUS PadFone X will be making its way to the mobile carrier, where this unique device that consists of an innovative smartphone and tablet should be made available soon. The ASUS PadFone X will only have its detailed hardware specifications, pricing and availability announced sometime down the road, but at the very least, you know for sure that it is well on its way.

The PadFone X is first of its kind in the U.S. It combines leading technology, a beautiful design and a remarkably seamless application experience – all on the nation’s fastest and most reliable 4G LTE network. This allows consumers to run their smartphone apps instantly on a vivid 9-inch tablet display. The magic of it is that the experience is not just bigger, it’s better than on a traditional smartphone.”
This 5-inch full HD smartphone will be able to “activate” a 9-inch full HD tablet whenever the handset is docked, and it is powered by Android 4.4 KitKat as the mobile operating system of choice. Coming in a thin and light design alongside a brushed metal frame, there is also a soft-touch back cover and dual front speakers which will be able to deliver captivating audio.

[CES 2014] Thanks to the introduction of Windows 8, along with its user interface which looked like it was designed for touchscreens in mind, we have been seeing a lot of hybrid devices as of late, combining features of a tablet and a notebook into a single device, allowing the user to swap between functions as needed. It might not have the grace and light-weightedness of a real tablet, but we suppose it’s a trade-off and if you’re in the market for such a device, ASUS has announced the Transformer Book Duet TD300, a device which ASUS is calling the world’s first quad-mode dual-operating system laptop and convertible. ASUS ZenFone 4, 5, And 6 Announced

[CES 2014] ASUS might not necessarily be a name associated with smartphones. With computers? Sure. With tablets? Definitely, but this has not stopped the Taiwanese company from releasing smartphones and in 2014, smartphone buyers will be able to look forward to a trio of new smartphones as part of ASUS’ ZenFone lineup. As the title implies, these trio of smartphones from ASUS will range from the 4-inch form factors, to a 5-inch size, to a 6-inch device that is definitely in “phablet” category already. (more…)

[CES 2014] There are a handful of Windows 8 tablets available in the market right now, although Microsoft’s Surface series of Windows-based tablets are probably the most famous at the moment. However come 2014, ASUS is hoping to change that with a Windows tablet of their own that comes in the form of the VivoTab Note 8 device that will run on the latest version of Windows 8, Windows 8.1 Unlike most tablets designed for the average joe, the VivoTab Note 8 device is aimed towards the enterprise user and students and will come bundled with the Microsoft Office Home and Student Edition, allowing for users to edit documents, spreadsheets, and even presentations on the go.
