Sprng Accessory Could Help Apple’s Earpods From Slipping Out Of Your Ears

Sprng Accessory Could Help Apples Earpods From Slipping Out Of Your EarsWhile Apple’s bundled earphones that comes with iPhones and iPods are actually pretty decent if one weren’t too fussy, one of the major problems that owners are experiencing would be how these earphones have the tendency to keep slipping out of their ears. For some who are lucky, the earphones fit perfectly, although based on the majority of complaints, there are many who find it annoying that they have to keep adjusting their earphones to make it stay in place.

Thanks to the folks at Ohm Industrial Design whose founders were a little fed-up of their Apple earphones dropping out of their ears, they have cooked up a small piece of plastic that when attached to the earphones, should help keep it in placed. The attachment is called Sprng and it’s basically a small plastic clip that attaches to each side of the earphone, and helps hold them in place in your ear (as pictured above).

According to the designers at Ohm, “With all the millions of ear pods that Apple gives away with their products, it would be a shame if people did not use them because they fall out.” In any case the Sprng attachments can be had for $10 and will be available for purchase via Ohm’s website, although it should be noted that they are only compatible with the new earpods, and not the older models.

Search Engines Not That Instrumental In Aiding Music Piracy, According To Study

Search Engines Not That Instrumental In Aiding Music Piracy, According To StudyMusic piracy has long been going on and even before the internet, where one could buy a cassette tape and record another copy of a legally purchased album. CD burning then came about and people began to make copies for friends and for profits, and with the introduction of the internet, well file-sharing became a whole lot easier and faster too. This is why we are not surprised that music labels are worried about piracy, although some studies have found that despite piracy, the music industry remains relatively unharmed. (more…)

Google Play Music All Access Could Soon Be Included In Your Monthly Verizon Bill [Rumor]

Google Play Music All Access Could Soon Be Included In Your Monthly Verizon Bill [Rumor]It seems that more companies are getting on board the music streaming service bandwagon these days, with Apple and their iTunes Radio, and Google with Google Play Music All Access. For those planning to use Google’s services, back when the company announced it they revealed that they would be charging $9.99 per month, which admittedly feels a bit pricey, however for Verizon owners it seems that according to a rumor, there is a good chance that the $9.99 could be included in your carrier billing, so perhaps a more streamlined method of payment might make the $9.99 seem a little less expensive, perhaps?

With Verizon currently offering their customers six months free All Access when they purchase a new DROID device, we guess extending the access by including it into carrier billing would be a more convenient solution for some customers, not to mention it will probably help Google net a ton of new subscribers somewhat effortlessly. What do you guys think? Would you be interested in subscribing to Google’s music streaming service if you could pay for it as part of your carrier bills?

Sound Band Open Ear Bluetooth Headset: Noise-allowing Headset

Many mid- to high-end headphones have noise-cancelling features. But sometimes you need to hear what’s going on around you. That’s where open ear headphones come in. The Sound Band is one such device. It’s a Bluetooth headset that conducts sound through your bone and tissue. Your ears will be uncovered and you’ll be the only one who hears what’s coming through the Sound Band.

sound band wireless open ear headset

As I said, Sound Band falls into an existing class of headphones. Similar products include the earHero and the AfterShokz. What intrigues me about the Sound Band are its two omnidirectional MEMS microphones. Hybra Advance Technology, the company behind Sound Band, claims that the microphones have noise reduction and echo cancellation.

If they can get that part right, they might have a leg up on the competition.

Pledge at least $125 (USD) on Kickstarter to get a Sound Band as a reward (Hybra says the product will retail at $189). Or just take your earphones off for a minute. That’s an option too. I’m just putting it out there.

Muzik Headphones Take The Social Route

Muzik Headphones Take The Social RouteI guess you can say that social media is definitely playing a large role in the lives of many, especially for the connected ones out there, so much so that we even have a Twitter experience hotel that is located in Spain. Well, one thing about social media is this – it can be highly addictive, but it is also one of the most efficient tools when it comes to spreading word out on a particular topic, or even just to inform the whole world of what you’re eating at that particular moment. This pair of Muzik headphones, however, is unique and different from typical audio gear in the sense where it is meant to see action in helping you share, experience and discover music.

The premise of the Muzik headphones lies in what is called ‘Social Smartware,’ where that would describe the seamless connection of consumer electronic devices, content and social media platforms in order to make music discoverable and shareable in a jiffy without much effort. Muzik will roll out a bunch of other smart audio products later this year, where among them include the on-ear wireless headphone that will merge high-fidelity audio in a design that boasts of capacitive touch controls, something that we see more and more of in high end smartphones these days. Each Muzik headphones can let you natively share your currently playing trackon Facebook and Twitter, while the integrated accelerometer knows when you have removed the Muzik headphones, stopping whatever track that is playing at that moment. Smart, no? [Product Page]
