Artists going all-out on mobile music editing have relatively few options — GarageBand won’t always cut it for the pros. IK Multimedia thinks its newly launched AmpliTube 3.0 could be the solution for those producers on the move. The $20 iOS app introduces a full, multi-track audio editor that can create a final masterpiece. With the help of a guitar rig and customizable drum loop, the suite is theoretically good enough to keep computers out of the studio. Even if musicians don’t want to go that far, they may be happy to hear that IK Multimedia has shipped the iRig HD. The $99 interface gives iOS and Mac users a preamped adapter for instruments with quarter-inch plugs. While we’re sure some performers would rather stick to traditional recording methods, those who’ve embraced digital with open arms can check out both AmpliTube and iRig HD at the source links.

With this week’s unveil of the Xbox One, the next thing to think about, naturally, is what sort of accessories are to be expected with the next-generation console, especially since the One won’t be compatible with Xbox 360 accessories. However, Turtle Beach is one of the first accessory makers to sign on with the new console and announce that they’ll be bringing headsets for Xbox One gamers.
The company isn’t revealing any details on what they’ll have to offer, but they said that they’ll be revealing their new line of Xbox One headsets at E3 2013 in just a few weeks, for which we’ll know more details about both the headsets and the console itself, as Microsoft is expected to reveal more information during E3 as well.
Based on Turtle Beach’s current line of Xbox 360 offerings, we can only guess that the company will have a vast line of Xbox One products with a large price range to try and hit all budget levels. So if you’re thinking about getting an Xbox One, Turtle Beach might be the best place to stop by first to pick yourself up a new shiny headset.
Last we heard from Turtle Beach, the company unveiled a handful of new products at CES 2013 back in January, with the PX51 and XP510 being the leaders of the pack. Both headsets feature Turtle Beach’s proprietary digital signal processor, Dolby surround sound, dual band WiFi, Bluetooth, and a 15-hour rechargeable battery — enough time to make your way through that shooter without stopping for a recharge.
As for other accessory makers, we’re not yet aware of any that have signed yet, but we’re positive that we’ll see more in the near future. Frankly, we wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of companies signed on for Xbox One accessories, as they’ll most likely make a killing since gamers won’t be able to carry over their older accessories from the Xbox 360.

JBL Spark Bluetooth speaker uncovered at the FCC with wall mounting, retro looks
Posted in: Today's ChiliJBL is known for its love of exotic speaker designs, but a new FCC approval suggests it’s about to turn back the clock for its next look. An unannounced Spark Bluetooth speaker appearing at the US agency wouldn’t look out of place at the top of a gramophone — albeit one draped in red plastic. It could also be part of the decor, as a manual in the filing suggests there’s support for mounting brackets. While the FCC filing doesn’t give away any launch details for the Spark, the 13W of total power hints that we won’t be paying a lot for our semi-retro audio.

Blumoo turns mobile devices into RF remotes, streams music via Bluetooth (video)
Posted in: Today's ChiliIf you hoard gadgets like us, then your living room is probably covered with a plethora of remote controls. Flyover Innovations’ Indiegogo campaign aims to streamline your home audio experience and minimize your mess with Blumoo, a small hardware platform that turns your mobile device into an RF remote. The IR-equipped Blumoo pod connects to your stereo via standard 3.5 mm jack or RCA connections, and allows you to control your home theater system with your mobile device through the magic of Bluetooth. The Blumoo app — coming soon for both iOS and Android — pulls from a database that Flyover claims is comprehensive enough to ensure your home theater equipment is covered. Flyover plans on retailing the device for $79 but is offering an early bird special for supporters starting at $45. To check out their rewards and watch their cartoon mascot, Blumoo Bob, shake it a like a polaroid picture, head over to their Indiegogo page. For a more informative — if slightly less entertaining — video, watch the preview after the break.
