Redditor Surprised When Her Secret Santa Turns Out To Be Bill GatesWhat do you do when you’re rich beyond belief and with more money than you and your family could spend in several lifetimes? Start a charity? Fund research that improves the lives of those in poor living conditions? Play secret Santa with the folks at Reddit? Well if you said yes to all of the above, you’d pretty much be living out the life of Bill Gates, whom to one Reddit user’s delight, turned out to be her secret Santa! Going by Rachel and identifying herself in the Reddit community as NY1227, safe to say Rachel was shocked when she participated in this year’s Reddit online gift exchange and found out that her secret Santa was none other than Bill Gates himself.

In fact the photo above was posted by Gates as proof that it was indeed he who sent the gifts to Rachel, which included a stuffed cow and a National Geographic book. We guess he thought that she might think it was a prank and pre-empted it by providing the evidence. According to her account of the situation and how she felt when she realized who it was, “My god. Never in my entire life did I imagine, ever, ever, ever that Bill would get me. I am SO SO thankful for the time, thought and energy he put into my gift, and especially thankful for him over nighting it Redditor Surprised When Her Secret Santa Turns Out To Be Bill Gates

Bill Gates Appear In South Park Xbox One-PS4 Episode

Bill Gates Appear In South Park Xbox One PS4 EpisodeWhen you are an icon like Bill Gates, you can be sure that many people would look up to you, as well as some might want to poke some good old fashioned fun in your direction through a satire or parody. Trey Parker and Matt Stone have recently conjured two of the more memorable episodes of South Park to date, where they actually shared a story in where Cartman, Stan, Kyle and Kenny saw their friendship being put to the extreme test due to the Xbox One-Playstation 4 console wars. At least this is one cartoon that keeps up with the times in terms of being updated. Not only that, there were special appearances by Microsoft chairman Bill Gates and CEO Steve Ballmer in the second episode.

In the third and final installment of South Park’s Xbox One-PS4 trilogy, it deals with both next generation game consoles, and it remains to be see just which particular console would come up tops. Bill Gates too, will make another appearance, in addition to more Game of Thrones references thrown around. Needless to say, an unpredictable ending is a good one, so the final outcome is something worth looking forward to since it has been touted to be different from what some folks would have thought it to be.

Bill Gates, Zuckerberg fund non-profit to bring public schools broadband Internet

The Internet is an integral part of modern education, and not only provides many different elements of supplemental education — video tutorials, instructional websites, etc. — it also is necessary for specific fields of study, like programming. The problem is that many public schools in the United States (approximately 80%) do not have adequate broadband […]

Amazon drone timeline optimistic but a good idea: Bill Gates

Bill Gates thinks four or five years is an “optimistic, or perhaps overoptimistic” timeline for the deployment of Amazon’s delivery drones. But in the same breath, Gates praised the project for its potential to impact other areas of society, such as “getting health supplies out to people in tough places.” Gates is widely known for […]

Microsoft should consider Tony Bates for CEO: Silicon Valley

A report on AllThingsD this weekend made a case for Tony Bates to take outgoing Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer‘s title. Bates is currently the EVP of business development, strategy and evangelism at Microsoft and formerly oversaw the Skype division (Microsoft took over Skype in 2011.) It would appear at least a dozen Silicon Valley “tech […]

Bill Gates Talks About The Search For New Microsoft CEO

Bill Gates Talks About The Search For New Microsoft CEO

There has already been a lot of speculation about who is going to get the top job at Redmond. Being the CEO of one of the biggest tech companies in the world is no easy job and Microsoft will most definitely be looking for the right candidate. Microsoft co-founder and chairman Bill Gates has attended but not addressed the company’s annual shareholder meeting for the past few years, today he broke that pattern in Bellevue, Washington. Bill Gates talked about various subjects, including the company’s search for a new leader.

Gates thanked Ballmer for his service, adding that Microsoft is “quite unusual” as it has only had two CEOs in its entire 38 year history, the two CEOs being Gates himself and his successor Steve Ballmer. Outgoing CEO Ballmer announced earlier this year that he’s going to step down within the next 12 months as the board’s special committee conducts a search for his successor. Gates said today that the committee is considering several people, both internal and external candidates are being vetted, but he didn’t give any specific names. Recent rumors suggest that ex Nokia CEO Stephen Elop, Ford CEO Alan Mulally and Microsoft COO Kevin Turner are at the top of the list. Gates didn’t say when we can expect the search to be completed, though he did mention that he and the committee are pleased with the search process so far. Gates said that the new CEO will have to lead a “complex global business,” and focus on the company’s strengths and address the areas where its weak or faces challenges.

Bill Gates Unveiled Windows 30 Years Ago Today

No matter what you think of Windows 8, it’s certain that Windows is both iconic and significant in the evolution of personal computing. It’s a series of operating systems, of course, but it’s also been a concept, a way of thinking, an influencer, and a touchstone for 30 years since Bill Gates introduced it on November 10, 1983.

Bill Gates, the Harvard Dropout will Finally Get his Degree

This article was written on March 23, 2007 by CyberNet.

BillgatesIt’s pretty well known now that Bill Gates is the World’s richest man, and at the same time, a Harvard dropout. Now Bill will finally get that Harvard degree he started way back in 1973 (and gave up a fear years later as a Junior).

In June, Gates will be speaking at Harvard University’s commencement ceremony, and because of that, he’ll receive an honorary degree. This is one more thing that Gates can add to his impressive list of accomplishments, although it’s not like he really needs to add anything else to his resume.

While Bill is probably one of the most well-known successful college drop-outs, there are actually several more to add to that list like:

    • Steve Jobs = Dropped out of college after 1 semester.
    • Steve Wozniak = Apple co-founder (he’s since then gone back to finish)
    • Michael Dell = University of Texas dropout
    • Lawrence Ellison = Oracle co-founder
    • Paul Allen = Partner in crime with Bill Gates
