The rise of wearable devices like smartwatches have spurred the world’s electronics makers to miniaturize their already tiny components even further. And TDK has managed to create what it’s claiming is the world’s smallest Bluetooth module, which also happens to be incredibly energy efficient.
If you want a Bluetooth speaker that you can take with you on the go to listen to your favorite tunes, Bem Wireless has a new offering that is very different from the others on the market. The device looks like a watch, but doesn’t tell time.
The Bem Wireless Speaker Band is a speaker that supports wireless music streaming from your mobile device. It has controls on the side for play/pause, and skipping tracks. Power for the device comes from an internal battery that charges via USB and is good for six hours of use.
One of the more interesting features is that the Speaker Band also has a microphone. That means you can use it to answer calls from your wrist, and use it with apps which support voice commands. It even supports spoken caller ID functionality. The Speaker Band is up for pre-order now for $49.99.
Back in 2010, we talked a bit about the Bose SoundLink speaker. Since that time, there was a Soundlink II, and now Bose has announced a new version of that speaker called the SoundLink III. The new speaker is much more attractive and promises better performance. In fact, the company says that the new speaker is its best sounding portable Bluetooth unit ever.
The SoundLink III has four neodymium transducers and dual-opposing passive radiators. It also uses a digital signal processing algorithm and improved electronics for more volume than the previous models.
The compact speaker measures 5″ H x 10″ W x 2″ deep. Battery life is rated at up to 14 hours on a single charge. The design of the speaker is made even more attractive with one of several optional colored covers, which add $35 to the price.
It has a silicon button panel that can survive dirt and dust. It also has a wrap around metal grille to resist fingerprints. The speaker is offered in gray, blue, green, orange, and pink. The SoundLink III speaker is available now for $299.95(USD).
Bose SoundLink Bluetooth speaker III is the latest member of the acclaimed family
Posted in: Today's ChiliBose has just announced their latest SoundLink product, which so happens to be the Bose SoundLink Bluetooth speaker III. Touted to be the best-performing Bluetooth speaker from Bose to date, it is said to deliver a brand new level of audio performance, coming in an all-new design, sports a longer battery life, and will be accompanied by accessory covers in five different colors. Not only that, it will also be able to hook up sans wires to your smartphone, tablet or basically, any other kind of device that has Bluetooth capability, so that you can share your favorite music out loud regardless of where you are.
This particularly new SoundLink III will integrate Bose proprietary technologies so that it can reproduce music with fullness, clarity and depth. A quartet of neodymium transducers and dual-opposing passive radiators will work in tandem with a new digital signal processing algorithm alongside improved electronics to play louder compared to its predecessor, all the while maintaining its balanced and natural sound at higher listening levels.
Apart from that, what is the point of having something that sounds good if it does not look pleasing to the eye at all? The Bose SoundLink III will be a sight to behold as well, where it is beautifully crafted and engineered for durability as well as grab-and-go use. Sporting a new industrial design that has been inspired by the SoundLink Mini Bluetooth speaker, this particular model would be sturdily built, where it has curved edges and a thin profile which would do away with the need for a built-in cover or stand. Not only that, there will also be a silicone button panel that offers additional protection from dirt and dust, and a wraparound metal grille which will do its bit to resist fingerprints. If you feel that it needs another level of personalization and added protection, then you will be pleased to hear that the new accessory covers will come in gray, blue, green, orange and pink shades.
The entire shebang tips the scales at a mere 3 pounds, where it measures approximately 5” in height, 10” wide and 2” deep. Each of these puppies would come with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that delivers up to 14 hours of listening. The asking price? £259.95 a pop.
