Boost And Virgin Mobile To Offer Galaxy S5

Boost And Virgin Mobile To Offer Galaxy S5

Previously it used to take a lot of time for premium smartphones to make their way to prepaid carriers. Those carriers usually had low-end or mid-range phones on offer, and not premium phones the kind customers would find on major national carriers such as Verizon and AT&T. Though things have been shaken up a bit in the past year with more such devices landing at prepaid carriers. The Galaxy S5 is one of the biggest flagships of this year, and it has already been revealed that Samsung’s latest smartphone is going to make its way to Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile soon after launch.

Boost Mobile Launches Moto G At $129.99

Boost Mobile Launches Moto G At $129.99

There are a few options available for people who don’t want to be tied down to a carrier with a conventional two year service contract, Boost Mobile is one of those options. The carrier today launched the affordable Moto G smartphone, a bonafide mid-range Android smartphone that offers respectable specifications. Moto G is actually the first Motorola handset on Boost Mobile since 2011, it is available for purchase today through the carrier’s website and will be available in its retail stores nationwide starting January 20th.

Moto G has a 4.5 inch HD display made with scratch resistant Gorilla Glass. Under the hood there’s a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quadcore processor, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, 3G compatibility, Bluetooth 4.0, 5 megapixel rear camera and a 2,070mAh battery. Boost Mobile guarantees that its Moto G will receive Android 4.4 KitKat update as early as next month. Customers get 50GB of Google Drive storage for two years, and the smartphone also comes preloaded with the interactive NextRadio application. Motorola is officially selling the Moto G for $179.99, Boost Mobile is offering it at a significant discount for $129.99, both online and in stores. Those looking for more bang for their buck can head towards Verizon, which is selling Moto G to its prepaid customers for $99

Moto G Coming To Boost Mobile January 14

Moto G Coming To Boost Mobile January 14Contracts and post-paid plans are great for those who are thinking long-term or who don’t want the hassle of shopping for different carriers, but for those who believe that they are around for a short period of time, perhaps for work or study, prepaid could be the smarter choice. For those of you who like the idea of prepaid, versus post-paid where you could get bill shocks, you might be interested to learn that Boost Mobile has announced that they will be offering the brand new Moto G from Motorola in the coming weeks and will be available for purchase come 14th of January via Boost Mobile’s online store, or for those who’d rather see the device in person, the Moto G will be available in-store come 20th January.

The handset will be priced at $129.99 off-contract along with Boost Mobiles $55 Monthly Unlimited plan. However the good news is that if you were to make six payments on time, Boost Mobile will cut your plan down by $5 and will be valid for up to $15, meaning that your monthly plan payments could go as low as $40 a month. Granted this is still a bit more expensive that Verizon’s pre-paid offering which is set at $99, but we guess it will depend on your preference, network coverage, and etc.

Boost Mobile iPhone 5s And iPhone 5c Purported Ads Leaked

Boost Mobile iPhone 5s And iPhone 5c Purported Ads Leaked

Boost Mobile is a prepaid carrier which is owned by Sprint. Boost has never officially sold iPhones before, despite the fact that the smartphones have been available from Sprint since 2011. That might be about to change though. The infamous Twitter leaker @evleaks has posted purported Boost Mobile ads which point towards the possibility of the prepaid carrier offering both new iPhones, the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c, for sale in the near future.

The leaked ads don’t explicitly mention when both new iPhones are going to be available. No pricing information is present on them, but the ads do suggest that the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c might be eligible for Boost’s monthly unlimited plan with “shrinking payments.” Boost won’t actually be the first prepaid U.S. carrier to offer the iPhone. Rivals Cricket and Straight Talk have offered the iPhone in the past, whereas Virgin Mobile will launch the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c on October 1st. The U.S. branch of Virgin Mobile is controlled by Sprint. Apple unveiled both new iPhones earlier this month, they were released in select markets on September 20th. Soon after the launch, Apple claimed that demand for both new iPhones is “incredible.” [Image via Twitter]

ZTE Warp 4G Announced By Boost Mobile

ZTE Warp 4G Announced By Boost MobileBoost Mobile has just announced that they will have yet another 4G capable smartphone on offer, where it will come in the form of the ZTE Warp 4G. The ZTE Warp 4G might seem familiar to some, that is because it is the updated version of last year’s smartphone that will also come with support for Sprint’s LTE 4G network. The ZTE Warp 4G will be powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as the operating system of choice, which means it will be far from a flagship device that can challenge other top line handsets from different manufacturers.

Other hardware specifications include a 4.5” HD display with durable glass; an 8-megapixel shooter at the back with a 1-megapixel front facing camera, a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal memory, and Wi-Fi and stereo Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, GPS support, and a 2,070mAh battery to power the entire shebang. It will also arrive pre-loaded with a number of Boost Mobile apps and services, including Boost Zone and Mobile ID. Those who are interested will be able to check out the ZTE Warp 4G from Boost Mobile’s web site for $199.99 a pop. Boost Mobile will not need you to sign up for a contract with them, where it will operate on Sprint’s 3G/4G networks.

Samsung Galaxy Prevail II aims to change definition of “entry level”

With the wide spread of the Samsung device family resulting from the sustained success of the Samsung Galaxy smartphone line comes devices like the Galaxy Prevail II. This device is being offered for under $200 in the United States without a contract with the mobile data carrier Boost Mobile, and it’s doing so with specifications that aren’t half bad. While the LG-made Google Nexus 4 brought on the sub-$300 off-contract smartphone to the masses with decent hardware, here Samsung does something extremely similar.

    sgfd

Though this machine isn’t bringing the same value that the Google Nexus 4 brought as LG made the effort with Qualcomm’s first quad-core processor and a fine combination of display and camera power, Samsung’s efforts with the Prevail II do bring a scaled-down collection of features that make such an off-contract offering one to watch.

    sdgfsdhe

On the other hand, because this machine is being offered with Boost Mobile, it’ll have difficulty finding footing in the public space the same way as Google’s Nexus 4. Google has one massive amount of advertising power, and Samsung does too, but the big S isn’t about to spend a mint on this release the same as they have with their hero line, or even their second or third-tier releases in the Samsung Galaxy Note and Galaxy Tab lines.

The Samsung Galaxy Prevail II, with its modest display (4-inch WVGA, that is) running with Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean alongside a 5 megapixel camera on its back will be long forgotten unless Boost Mobile does an unforeseen amount of public push for its release. Inside we’ll find a host of Samsung’s family connections – wireless, cloud-based, and otherwise, and the company would do well to make it clear that this machine – this small release – will be the least expensive way for the average consumer to get in on the fun.

Have a peek at our hands-on with the Samsung Galaxy S III mini for a rather similar close-up view of the hardware here, while the software is set to be a lot closer to what we’ve seen with the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini we’ve seen much more recently.
