Claptrap is kind of annoying. Cute, but annoying. The robot from Borderlands has a grating voice, he follows you everywhere, and spends way too much time beatboxing. I complain, but the game wouldn’t be the same without him. The folks over at Our Nerd Home must feel the same way because they made a Claptrap trash can.
I would say that is entirely warranted. They also have a tutorial for you to follow along and build a Claptrap disposal unit of your very own if you want one in your home. And who wouldn’t? You’ll need a step-on trash can, cables, cardboard, and some other stuff, but the end result looks pretty amazing.
It would feel great to throw trash in this guy after having to deal with him in game for a few hours. Take that, you bucket of bolts!

2K has just announced their latest entry in the Gearbox FPS series, where it is known as Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel would place you squarely in a time between Borderlands 1 and 2, where it explores the rise of Borderlands 2’s charmingly sadistic villain Handsome Jack. One more thing – the game is set to happen on the moon.
If you are itching to dish out some digital punishment, fret not – with Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, you will find yourself not running short on offensive opportunities at all. There will be new laser-based and “Cryo” weapons (Cryo weapons happen to be an all-new elemental damage type, and when you bring together fire from laser and ice from Cryo, I am quite sure that this bit has awakened that itch on your trigger finger) that will be part of the armory that exists on Pandora, where you have the choice of taking on the mantle of one of four new characters: Athena – The Gladiator, Wilhelm – The Enforcer, Nisha – The Lawbringer, and Claptrap – The Fragtrap.
Expect Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel to arrive later this fall for the Sony PS3 platform. Suddenly, fall seems to be really, really far away, right? Any takers? [Press Release]

Borderlands 3 isn’t in the works
Posted in: Today's ChiliIf you were hoping the third installation of the fun and widely popular Borderlands franchise was in the works, prepare yourself: Gearbox’s CEO Randy Pitchford has confirmed his company isn’t … Continue reading
It seems that despite the studios outright denial that Borderlands 3 is in the works, there are just some out there who refuse to believe that the game will not be happening anytime soon. It should be noted that this does not mean that the game is cancelled or that there never will be a Borderlands 3, it’s just that it is not being made right now, and apparently for good reason too. Gearbox founder, Randy Pitchford, recently spoke to the folks at Polygon where he talked about the company’s plans for future titles, such as Homeworld, and also touched on the topic about Borderlands.
According to Pitchford, “No. We are not developing that right now. We don’t know what that is yet. We can imagine what it must achieve, but we don’t know what it is yet.” He later adds, “We know we want it and we know it should exist, but we don’t know what it is yet.” However not everything is doom and gloom because Pitchford did state that the company is working on something in Borderlands that they will announce soon. “We are doing things in Borderlands that we’ll announce soon, that are good, and that I think people will be really excited about if you love the franchise.” As to whether it will be Borderlands 3, it seems that will not be the case, but if you love the Borderlands franchise, we guess you will have to take Pitchford’s word on it that there will be something good to look forward to, even if it isn’t Borderlands 3.

I mentioned yesterday when I came across those the sweet Game of Thrones house sigil snowflakes that I had just started watching the series. I’m quite hooked now and I think it’s great news that a video game based on the epic HBO series is coming. The game is coming from Telltale Games, the company behind the episodic game The Walking Dead, and the Sam and Max adventures among others.
Telltale isn’t offering up much in the way of details, other than to say it is partnering with HBO on the game. That means the game will be official, and it better be good. Telltale had great success with the episodic game based on The Walking Dead, hopefully the Game of Thrones game is just as good.
If that video game isn’t enough to get you excited, Telltale has also announced an episodic game based in the Borderlands universe. The game is called Tales from the Borderlands. It will follow characters we know from Borderlands 2 and new characters.
Both games are landing sometime in 2014, and will be available on PC, Mac, mobile, and game consoles.
Telltale Games is going to have quite the busy year in 2014 as they will be in the middle of release episodic content for The Walking Dead season two as well as working on The Wolf Among Us and the new Game of Thrones game. They’re going to be even busier now that they will also be working on episodic content for a new Borderlands game. (more…)

Gearbox Software’s Borderlands 2 recently received a Game of the Year Edition, which means those of you who have yet to buy the game can do so while also getting all of its previously released downloadable content. Just because Borderlands 2 has a Game of the Year Edition doesn’t mean Gearbox Software is done with the game’s downloadable content as a new Halloween-themed DLC will be available starting on October 22.
