Ultra Street Fighter 4 To Ditch Games For Windows Live In Favor Of Steam

Ultra Street Fighter 4 To Ditch Games For Windows Live In Favor Of SteamGamers if you’re looking to get your hands on Capcom’s upcoming Ultra Street Fighter 4, it is expected to see a release in 2014 and will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC, and at the moment there are no plans for next-gen console support. However we’re sure some are wondering if the game will be released for console first, or for PC first, or will there be different release dates depending on the platform? Well the good news is that according to a tweet by Capcom’s Neidel Crisan, the game will be released simultaneously for all platforms, or at least close to each other. The tweet reads, “The intention is to have them all launch at around the same time. Should have more [details] on PC version soon.” Crisan also went on to reveal that the game will be downloadable by gamers via Valve’s Steam distribution platform, and that Capcom will be ditching Games for Windows Live in favor of Steam, which we’re sure is good news for gamers who might have credit on Steam that they are waiting to use.

Tekken X Street Fighter Is Still In Development, Producer Reassures Fans

Tekken X Street Fighter Is Still In Development, Producer Reassures FansBack in 2012, Capcom released the Street Fighter X Tekken crossover game much to the delight of fighting fans around the world. Reviews of the game have been generally positive, but at the same time we’re sure some are wondering about its sibling, the Tekken X Street Fighter title that was briefly mentioned. Given that the title was announced back in 2010, does that mean that the game has ceased development? Well the good news is that if you were looking forward to seeing what Namco Bandai has in store for us, you can rest easy knowing that the game is still in development.

This was confirmed in an interview with Siliconera with Tekken’s producer, Katsuhiro Harada. According to Harada, “We will say first off that the game is still in development, so you don’t need to worry about that.” Harada also stated that some of the reasons why there has not been any updates on the game was because updates for Street Fighter X Tekken were still being released, and that due to the crossover, it seems that it has created a new community that they wanted to “take care and grow”, rather than just pushing out their game just to capitalize on Street Fighter X Tekken’s popularity. Still no word on when the game could be released, but it’s good to know that it’s still alive and kicking.

Street Fighter’s Yoshinori Ono Does Not Want SF IV To Be The Last

Street Fighters Yoshinori Ono Does Not Want SF IV To Be The LastArcade fighting game fans are probably well-aware that Capcom is currently working on Ultra Street Fighter IV, but due to lack of staff and a budget, at the moment there are no plans for a Street Fighter V, much to the disappointment of many Street Fighter fans around the world. However while there are no plans for a Street Fighter V, Yoshinori Ono admitted to 4Gamer that he does not want the Street Fighter series to end at IV, although we also acknowledged that creating a new title especially for next-gen consoles could pose a challenge.

According to Ono, “Personally, I don’t want to stop Street Fighter’s main numbered series at IV […] Realistically speaking, developing a title for next-gen consoles requires a huge amount of staff members, and a large sum of money. The issue of money also applies to everyone else, as it’ll be required to invest in a new console, game, and arcade stick.” Of course given that Ultra Street Fighter IV has yet to hit the shelves, thinking about Street Fighter V could be a bit premature, but hopefully the sales of Ultra Street Fighter IV will be enough to convince the executives at Capcom to invest money into producing a sequel.

Street Fighter IV DLC brings five new characters to the fold [UPDATE]

With the newest update to the game Street Fighter IV, you’re going to see five new characters, four of which have been revealed this afternoon. While the creators of Tekken aim to add a fighting salmon to the arena, four of the five new characters coming to Street Fighter IV have been revealed to be fan favorites. While we’re not expecting a handheld seafaring creature to be attacking our heroes in this season’s upgrade, the creators of this game have promised an addition “never seen in street fighter before.”

    Super-Street-Fighter-IV

With the addition of Hugo, Poison, Elena, and Rolento to the mix, the folks at Capcom’s Evo 2013 panel have thrown a bit of a curve-ball the audience’s way. While each of these first four characters have appeared in previous editions of the game on multiple platforms, the fifth will be one never before played by a user in the wild. At the moment it’s not clear whether this means the character will be entirely new or a translation of a character from the Street Fighter universe to a real fighter as never executed before.

The update will also be bringing on more than just the five new characters. Also in store for users are all previously released costume packs – so good thing you hesitated! This update will also be adding on special costumes designed by Udon Entertainment for each of the five new characters – but only if you pre-order the update before it’s out on the market.

This update will be released through all standard channels and through the NESiCAxLive arcade network in Japan soon. Both Super Street Fighter IV and the still relatively new updated Arcade Edition will have the ability to add this DLC to their iterations of the game. Stay tuned for the rest of the details – including a release date – soon!

UPDATE: This update will be appearing for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC for a cool $15 USD, and you’ll be seeing it in early 2014.

    UPDATE 2: Gameplay video released!

Mega Man Unlimited Fan Game: Hold on to Your Heart Tank

It’s been quite a while since Capcom released an official Mega Man game; even its 25th anniversary gift to fans Street Fighter x Mega Man was mostly made by a fan. So forget about doing something right; it seems that if Mega Man fans want something done at all, they have to do it themselves. That’s what Philippe “MegaPhilX” Poulin and his friends are trying to accomplish with Mega Man Unlimited.

According to a Destructoid article from last year, MegaPhilX initially came up with Mega Man Unlimited just to join an animation contest sponsored by Capcom-Unity. When he decided to go ahead and make it a full game, he intended it to embody his ideas of what Mega Man 10 should be like, since the game had not yet been released at the time. MegaPhilX says that the design for Mega Man Unlimited was influenced by Mega Man 9 and 3.

MegaPhilX and five of his friends – Kevvviiinnn, ThunderThouin, Gabriel, Jocelyn and Jansim – have been working on the game for several years now and Mega Man Unlimited is finally in alpha stage. Let’s cut them some slack though, it’s not like programming this game is their full-time gig.

Here’s the latest trailer for the game:

And here’s its debut trailer, which MegaPhilX uploaded last year. It lays out the plot of the game and also shows gameplay footage:

MegaPhilX can’t say when they’ll be finished with the game, only that it will be released as a standalone PC app with support for both keyboards and game pads. Keep an eye on the Mega Man Unlimited website and Facebook page for updates on the game.
