When you’re shuffling a deck of cards, you’re trying your best to ensure everything gets as mixed up as possible. But it turns out you might not have to try so hard. In this wonderful TedEd animation, Yannay Khaikin outlines the staggering number of ways a deck of 52 cards can be arranged.
BMW’s i8 hybrid supercar will start reaching preorder customers in June, with the German marque finalizing the 362HP powertrain ahead of production kicking off in April. Demand during presales – … Continue reading
Growing up, I never wanted Cyclops’ optic blast or Wolverine’s adamantium claws or Magneto’s power over magnetic fields, I wanted to throw cards like Gambit. I don’t know if that makes me an unimaginative little kid who only dreamt about realistic powers but I do know I spent many summer days throwing cards at everything. Sadly, I never grew up to be like Gambit. This guy, comedian Javier Jarquin, did though. Watch him throw playing cards with incredible accuracy and enough strength to break glass.
For graphic designers, playing cards are a playground: The simple constraints of four suits and thirteen different cards accommodate tons of creativity without overcomplicating things. And there’s an amazing number of interesting decks out there.
Klingon love isn’t just about fighting each other with bat’leths and breaking bones in the bedroom. It has a sweet side too. Although it is mostly violence and growling.
Some of them actually exchange Valentine’s Day cards though. Like these, that NeatoShop artist Matt Wiley has created. These Valentine’s Day Cards feature Klingon-worthy phrases of love, like “Love is a battlefield / And we will love victoriously,” “You stole my heart / I would have given you mine. I have two,” and “The empire doesn’t seem as mighty without you / Will you fight by my side?”
With these cards you can be sure that you and your mate will love for a lifetime and enter Sto-Vo-Kor together in death. Qapla’!

Sneaky isn’t your ordinary card game. While most will pit you against friends, family, and acquaintances, Sneaky will challenge you to interact with others outside of your usual circle instead.
It’s essentially a stack of dares that encourages you to be sneaky as you accomplish the objective printed on it. It’s described as a card game about “creating fun and creative social interactions, breaking up the tedium of everyday life.” From the looks of it, Sneaky can do just about that – and more.
The main goal of the game is to get rid of all your cards by following each cards own rule set. The game works best in common social environments. Places like malls, school campuses, offices, conferences, camps, youth groups, parties, and other public places. In most situations there is a player who is playing the game and a non-player who is not. With the player interacting in some way with the non-player.
Sneaky was created by 16-year-old Harry Lee back in 2009, with the help of hundreds of volunteers who helped create ideas for the deck.
The best part? You can just download Sneaky Cards and print them at home to begin the fun. You can also contribute your own ideas to the project over on Reddit.

You haven’t made Valentine’s Day plans yet. That’s okay! Who needs ’em? Manufactured holiday, singlehood empowerment, overpriced prix fixe menus. But if you must make a romantic gesture next month, let it be this card. It sums up modern relationships pretty much perfectly.
I never played Pokémon growing up, but my son loved the cards for a long time. It seemed I couldn’t walk around the house without stepping on a card or Pokémon toy of some sort. One of the things that he tried to explain to me a few times was how exactly the Pokémon changed over time. A new set of Pokémon cards has turned up that shows how the kids and their families evolve alongside their Pokémon companions.
The first of the cards shows a little boy with his parents and a Tepig. The next card in the series show the boy a bit older with parents and a little sister in the picture with the Tepig evolved to a Pignite.
The final card in the series show the Tepig is now a full-grown Emboar, the boy grown up and married with kid of his own and the little sister grown up along with older parents. The cards also show the new stats for the Pokémon as it grows.
The cards launched in Japan as part of the EX Battle Boost expansion.
So what have we learned from this? Pokémon will surely outlive us all.

I’m not a big fan of Tarot cards, but these Lord of the Rings tarot cards might just make me interested in a reading. They come from Deviant Artist Sceith Ailm who is working on a Major Arcana for her tarot series.
As of now she has 16 cards and we hope she completes more. If I saw a deck of these for sale I would definitely buy them and I know that other LOTR fans would as well.
The artwork is really top notch. I have no idea how to read tarot cards, but these would be fun just to have in your hand and look at on a daily basis. Head on over DeviantArt for more of SceithAilm’s awesome images.
