Apple’s recently announced CarPlay is basically the company’s rebranding of iOS in the Car which was unveiled last year. For those who missed our recent coverage, it basically sees a form of iOS integrated into a vehicle’s infotainment unit where they will be able to pull up features such as Maps, Phone, Music, and more.
There will also be a button on the steering wheel of the vehicle that allows users to activate Siri on their phones without having to look at their phone, which is a great safety feature. However not everyone is sold on CarPlay and in a recent statement made by David Teater, he has expressed his concerns on CarPlay and possible future innovations by other companies. (more…)

When Apple’s CarPlay was announced, one of their participating partners was Mercedes-Benz. The CarPlay feature is expected to debut in newer models that will be released later this year, but what does that mean for older models? What does it mean for customers who might have bought a Mercedes-Benz last week but don’t get access to the feature?
It sounds like something consumers might get upset about. After all it doesn’t seem fair, right? Well the good news is that Mercedes-Benz will not be forgetting about their older customers and according to a statement the company released to 9to5Mac, it is the company’s goal “to offer an after market solution by the end of the year.” (more…)

A couple of days ago, Apple announced CarPlay which was basically a rebranding of iOS in the Car which was revealed last year. Along with the announcement, Apple also revealed some of their partners that would be including the feature in their vehicles.
These companies included Ferrari, Volvo, and Mercedes-Benz, and are expected to be joined by other companies such as BMW, Ford, Kia, and so on at a later date. Oddly enough there appeared to be one car manufacturer missing from the list: Tesla. (more…)

Just the other day, Apple announced CarPlay. This feature is basically Apple’s take on a car’s infotainment system and we have seen the feature adopted by manufacturers such as Ferrari, Mercedes, and Volvo.
