LG intends to wow the CES 2014 crowd with first 105” Curved Ultra HD TV in the world

lg-105ub9The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas has always been the place for companies to roll out and showcase their latest technologies, hoping to wow the masses along the way. Having said that, we have seen some pretty impressive releases in the past, and the TV segment always does seem to have something new for everyone. For next year’s edition of CES, the folks over at LG has lined up another world’s first, which is their LG 105UB9, where in plain English, it would be better known as the first 105” Curved Ultra HD TV in the world.

Sure, there has been larger sized TVs revealed in the past such as those from Mitsubishi and Panasonic that ran on different technologies such as plasma, but those did not have any curves that the LG 105UB9 comes with. At such a large size, you will be able to enjoy magnificent picture quality as well as a wide viewing angle, where the Ultra HD TV itself will be able to render even the most minute detail in breathtaking clarity so that you, the viewer, will be able to enjoy an unprecedented level of viewer immersion.

Apart from that, the LG 105UB9’s cinematically proportioned 21:9 CinemaScope screen makes it perfect for enjoying movies the way they were meant to be shown on the silver screen. Not only that, it will also let you check out viewing information on the side of the screen without having to suffer the ignominy of that blocking any of the ongoing action. The LG 105UB9 will boast of 11 million pixel (5120 x 2160) screen resolution, which are far more pixels than you can shake a stick at compared to a regular Full HD TV. As for pricing details, that remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure – it is not going to come cheap considering the kind of technology that it comes with.

After all they are one of many companies from China that have been producing their own brand of smartphone, joining the likes of Huawei, ZTE, Oppo, and etc. However the company has been making waves as of late and have even been rumored to launch a handset that could sport a 500ppi display. Well if you’re looking forward to getting your hands on Meizu’s technology, you could be in luck as the company has recently announced their plans to enter the US market.

Four Samsung Tablets Expected In Q1, 2014

Four Samsung Tablets Expected In Q1, 2014

Over the past couple of months it has been rumored multiple times that Samsung is going to focus a lot more on the tablet market next year. Apparently the company has toned down its smartphone sales expectations for the coming year, and hopes to increase its footing in the global tablet market. According to latest rumors, Samsung is likely to launch as many as four new tablets in the first quarter of 2014. With both CES and MWC falling in this timeframe, its not entirely impossible once you think about it.

One of the four tablets expected early next year is the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite which has already been rumored a few times. It is said to be Samsung’s cheapest Android tablet to date, but still a concrete release date is not known. There not much known about the other three tablets expected in the coming year’s first quarter, but if we were to go by recent speculation, perhaps Samsung might also unveil its rumored 12.2 inch and 13.3 inch tablets which have reportedly entered production earlier this month. We have also heard speculation that a tablet with an AMOLED display is also on the cards, so this makes the fourth tablet that Samsung might unveil in Q1, 2014. Which one are you most looking forward to?

Digital Storm Teases Steam Machine For CES 2014

Digital Storm Teases Steam Machine For CES 2014When it comes to gaming PCs, Digital Storm is a company that has released some pretty impressive (and beautiful looking) products in the past. Now it looks like they are back again and this time instead of announcing a new PC meant for gamers, they have announced their own Valve approved Steam Machine. At the moment the exact specifications of Digital Storm’s take on the Steam Machine remains somewhat a mystery, although what we do know is that it will come with a liquid cooling system, advanced thermal management, and will come with NVIDIA’s GeForce GTA Titan graphics card as an option. It will also be able to dual-boot both Windows and SteamOS, allowing gamers to swap between platforms as needed.

We reckon this is a pretty smart move as gamers who want a bit of productivity will be able to switch between operating systems when the need arises. It will measure 4.4-inches wide, 14.1-inches deep, and 16.4-inches tall, making it a tad larger than the Xbox One, but still compact enough where it will not take up too much room, unlike the company’s previous PC offerings with towering PC cases. Unfortunately in terms of pricing, the Digital Storm Steam Machine will be priced starting at $1,469, meaning that compared to iBuypower’s Steam Machine offering of $499, this will not be as accessible. In any case check back with us during CES 2014 where we will have more information available for you.
