Chefjet 3D Printers Could Be An Attractive Tool In Any Bakery

Chefjet 3D Printers Could Be An Attractive Tool In Any Bakery[CES 2014] 3D printers have been making their way around the CES showfloor for a fair number of years now, but how many of them will actually be able to churn out stuff that can be chewed and swallowed? Enter the new range of Chefjet 3D printers that will launch later this year, where these machines will be able to print out food. Yes sir, a manna machine, so to speak. These 3D printers have the ability to make chocolate and sugar-based confectionery shaped in different ways that are pretty difficult to reproduce using traditional methods. The smaller model is known as the Chefjet, where it will be limited to monochrome creations, although the larger Chefjet Pro has the ability to create multi-colored objects.

The thing is, their entry cost could be particularly prohibitive to many, especially hobbyists, and this will most likely limit sales figures. For instance, the most basic model will cost approximately $5,000 (£3,000), while those who want to pick up the Chefjet Pro will have to fork out approximately double that amount. I can see chocolatiers looking for more and more complex designs, since no one is going to be impressed by the usual slab of chocolate any more in this day and age.

iSwimband Could Help Prevent Kids From Drowning

iSwimband Could Help Prevent Kids From DrowningDuring the summer, we come across more than our fair share of stories of kids drowning in pools or lakes attempting to cool off from the summer heat. There are a variety of reasons why this might happen. It could be inattentive parents, kids trying to swim in the deep end when they have no experience, or it could be that there was an accident, but either way it is extremely regretful. However hoping to change that through the use of technology is a gadget called iSwimband which is a band that kids or swimmers can wear around their heads. Through the use of Bluetooth connectivity, it will basically inform the user’s phone if the wearer has been submerged for a little too long.

The accompanying app allows the user to determine how long is “too long”, so if you know your kid has a penchant for diving and holding his breath, maybe you could set the timer to be a little longer so you won’t have a mini heart attack every time it goes off. iSwimband is admittedly pretty dorky-looking and will definitely not score you or your kids any cool points at the swimming pool, but then again we guess being alive is definitely better than trying to appear cool, right? Already available in Texas and Arizona, the iSwimband will retail for $150 and will see a wider launch in April and May.

    Yahoo Smart TV Introduced

Yahoo Smart TV Introduced[CES 2014] CES 2014 has been an eventful time for many of us, and this week, there was the introduction of the Yahoo Smart TV, which happens to be the next evolution of Yahoo’s Connected TV platform that is currently being used in millions of households today. Considering that the modern day person has so many choices available on your TV that range from traditional channels, to Video On Demand, to Web video including Yahoo Screen, it can be more challenging than ever before to find out just what to watch. How about a TV that is sensitive and smart enough to be able to automatically suggest what to watch based on your previous viewing tastes and availability?

This is what Yahoo’s Smart TV platform has set out to do, where it will scan thousands of program options as well as learn from your viewing habits. This would allow it to recommend content which is personalized just for you, and the recommendations will also include a combination of shows which are about to kick off, as well as interesting in-progress content such as a football game, Video On Demand content and the Web. How does automatic content recognition sound to you? [Press Release]

WWE Network To Stream On Connected Devices

WWE Network To Stream On Connected Devices[CES 2014] While we all know that WWE offers entertainment wrestling with some interesting scripts, there is still the excitement of seeing beefed up men as well as ladies having a go at one another, with subplots running in the background at times, too. At the Wynn Hotel and Casino earlier this evening, wrestlers including Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin and WWE chief brand officer Stephanie McMahon has introduced a bombshell where the streaming landscape is concerned – the WWE Network will is set to be realized this coming February 24th at 11:05, with an asking price of $9.99 per month, which ain’t too much actually. For what could get you an average meal in a city, this subscription will include all of the network’s pay-per-views, WrestleMania included.

The kicker is, it will not be made available in cable subscriptions; but rather, it will simply stream on every device you own. However, one ought to take note that it will most probably not feature Raw and Smackdown as part of the deal, although old episodes will make the cut on the new network, in addition to pre- and post-show content. Making use of the digital network, would see WWE take full advantage of different revenue streams , and the apps will also allow viewers to purchase tickets to the org’s live events, gaining access to the e-store as well.
