LED lighting is great. The right bulb
Earlier this year, a crowd-funded device by the name of Aurora was made a reality. Funded several times over what its creators at iWinks requested, the company ended their campaign … Continue reading
Under Armour is about to release a new line of gear coated in a sheath of sturdy plastic, designed to provide support while also flexing with the shape of your movement. "Clutchfit," as the new tech is called, isn’t aesthetics—it’s science.
If you have a thing about people taking your picture – whether it’s discretely or with your knowledge – then you might want to get one of these Justice Caps.
They look like your average ball cap, except for the fact that they’ve got a strip of high-powered LEDs on the visor. And it’s this strip of LEDs that makes all the difference, as they virtually black out your face from digital cameras and facial recognition systems. They work best in low-level lighting environments, such as when you’re in a club or outdoors when it’s dark out. That said, they won’t do much for you in broad daylight, although they may still conceal part of your face.
The Justice Cap is available online for $14.99(USD).

When it comes to weight loss, most experts would say that exercise and a good diet are the keys to shedding those extra pounds. Unfortunately, people have a hundred and one reasons why they can’t stop eating this, or why they can’t get on this particular workout routine. Well, complaining about being out of shape won’t help you any. But complaining while wearing this caffeine-infused top might.
Dubbed as the “Caffeine-Infused Slimming Tank Top,” the tank’s stretchy fabric is infused with micronized caffeine and brown algae. According to its product page, the former is to stimulate lipolysis, which is the natural breakdown of stored fats, while the latter is to moisturize and smooth its wearer’s skin.
Sounds pretty unscientific, but hey, it could work. At the very least, it should give you a little buzz.
The caffeinated tank top is available from Hammacher Schlemmer online for $85(USD). There’s also a set of matching body shorts for $70.

Make Taser-proof Clothing with Carbon Fiber Tape: Defense Against Self-defense
Posted in: Today's ChiliAside from being very strong and rigid, carbon fiber is also a very good conductor of electricity. Hack A Day Projects member Shenzhen took advantage of the wonder material’s property to make an electroshock-proof coat.
Shenzhen simply stuck strips of carbon fiber tape under the lining of his coat using iron-on hem tape.
Because carbon fiber is more conductive than human skin, the current from the taser will flow through the tape.
Because it’s just a matter of sticking carbon fiber strips, you can actually do this to practically any piece of clothing. Shenzhen also used carbon fiber tape to make heated clothing, although that mod is a bit trickier and requires a power source to work.

Wearable technology has a long way to go. Sure, a smartwatch that lets you read text messages on your wrist is neat, and a pair of glasses that take pictures is innovative (or whatever). But what about technology we can really wear? Like clothes?
