Ben Mattes Senior Producer from WB Games spoke up on the inner bits of Batman: Arkham Origins this week at NVIDIA’s Montreal gaming event. Running down the details of the plotline first, Batman Arkham Origins was described as an exercise in Batman history, taking place in the second year of Batman’s career – decidedly NOT […]
How awesome is this? This Batman cake has a secret identity, just like Batman himself. By day, it is a beautiful mild mannered wedding cake, but by night it is a dark and sugary guardian of Gotham.
Bruce Wayne can eat from the front half when attending the wedding, then at night he can get icing all over his cowl when no one is looking. It was made by New Zealand based Stiletto Studio who knows how to make an amazing wedding cake that even Two-Face would love.
Cut it in half and you can please the traditionalists and the geeks in one shot.

Man of Surgery: Superman Fan Gets 19 Plastic Surgeries to Look Like Clark Kent
Posted in: Today's ChiliThere are fans and then there are crazy people. We’ve all seen the insane women who get plastic surgery to look more like Barbie dolls and even anime girls, but check this guy out. He has 19 plastic surgeries to make himself look more like Superman.
35-year-old Herbert Chaves, originally from the Philippines, has undergone numerous surgical procedures – all to look more like the Man of Steel. Chavez has been a fan since he was five years-old and has had nose jobs, jaw realignment, liposuction, pec implants and even skin lightening.
The $7,000(USD) he spent on surgeries might seem like a bargain, but keep in mind that the average hourly wage in the Philippines works out to be about $1.50 here in the States.
He does look more like Superman/Clark Kent, but sadly, he looks closest to Brandon Routh, the worst Superman.

Superman 75th Anniversary Coins from the Canadian Mint: It’s a Bird, It’s a Coin!
Posted in: Today's ChiliWe have Presidents and other historic figures on our coins, but what we really need are superheros. The Royal Canadian Mint understands this and they are releasing a series of seven different Superman coins to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Big Blue Boyscout.
They look pretty awesome. Usually I find Canadian coins to be silly looking, but now I want some. Most of the coins range from $30(USD) – $130(USD), but there’s also a $750 gold one if you are a super fan.
Next we need a Batman paper dollar. That would make me happy. In Batman and Superman we trust. That’s currency I can get behind. Hit the link to see the full collection.

If Batman Wore Scalemaille
Posted in: Today's ChiliOver the years Batman’s suit has ranged from a form-fitting nylon leotard to lightweight carbon composites. But if Batman dwelled in medieval times, I bet he’d have worn something like this.
This scalemaille armor Batsuit was handmade by Creations by Christopher. The body is made from almost 27,000 individual stainless steel rings, 4,500 large anodized aluminum scales, and another 3,000 small ones.
The armor weighs in at about 60 pounds, and includes not only the upper body, breastplate, pauldron and backplate, but it comes with a pair of matching Bat-bracers, and a cuisse to protect your lower body. The suit is rounded out with a fabric cape and boots, as well as a helmet with bat-like knife-ears – though Christopher didn’t make the helmet himself.
The whole getup was custom-made for a web series called Legends: The Dark Knight, and is now available for sale up on Etsy. Unless you’re Bruce Wayne, you’ll need to save up a few paychecks for this suit though – as it’s going for $9500(USD). Also, you need to be 6-feet-tall, weigh about 190 pounds, and have a 32″ waist. Though if you can afford another $1000 or so, Christopher will custom make one to your size.
With the launch of the next blockbuster gaming title Batman: Arkham Origins, NVIDIA has decided to team up with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment to package the game with their newest series of Graphics Processing Units. This is the sort of bump that NVIDIA has been known to give to only the highest-quality and graphics-intensive games […]
Until the 1970s, the tiny southern Illinois town of Metropolis had two claims to fame: The long-demolished fort George Washington had founded nearby, and the Uranium Hexafluoride Processing Facility, which employed hundreds of its citizens. But in June 1972, the Illinois House of Representatives and DC Comics gave Metropolis a new history. They declared it the official hometown of Superman.

LEGO Joker Minifigure Clock
Posted in: Today's ChiliOne of the most devious enemies in the DC Comics universe, or even in the history of comics, would be the Joker. A simple premise, really, an ordinary person who has gone insane, and loves death and destruction for the sake of it without any reason, only to be stopped by the Batman time and again, is someone whom we can identify with. After all, you can never quite tell just when you are going to snap, are you? Hence, instead of living without any direction in life, you might want to have a constant reminder each morning for you to maintain your sanity, and you can do so with the $29.99 LEGO Joker Minifigure Clock.
Being an officially licensed DC Comics collectible, the $29.99 LEGO Joker Minifigure Clock will come in the classic Joker look, although this time around, he will not pull any kind of deadly pranks on you, but rather, there is a large and friendly digital clock which is located right in the minifig’s stomach so that you can not only keep to the time each morning, but also acts as an alarm for other moments in your live. The arms and legs can be posed, allowing the minifig to sit or stand, all 8” of it.

Batman’s collection of villains are a strange bunch, where most of them are just plain mad. After all, villains tend to have this lust for power, while some of them are totally insane that they just want to introduce nothing but anarchy to the world. The Riddler, however, is willing to tempt the world’s greatest detective with his collection of riddles, that sometimes ends up as irritating. Still, here is the $349.99 Batman Arkham City Riddler Tropher Replica that allows you to display it on a shelf, be it at home or at the office.
The reason why it costs so much is because this has been hand-sculpted, hand-finished, and hand-painted, so you can be quite sure that no two of these are the same, as there should be some subtle differences between them. Not only that, the Batman Arkham City Riddler Tropher Replica would look a whole lot better in the dark and at night thanks to a beautiful LED effect. This is an officially licensed DC Comics collectible, so who knows, it might even be worth something many more years down the road when you are old and feeble, while Bruce Wayne as the Dark Knight remains young, strong and rich in the comics.
